Kenya Captain Vow That The Harambee Stars will Gun The Super Eagles down

Kenya captain Victor Wanyama is confident that Harambee Stars will floor Nigeria's Super Eagles in the 2014 World Cup qualifier at Moi Kasarani Stadium today.

The Celtic midfielder says the outcome of the first leg fixture in Calabar, where Nigeria needed a late goal to deny Kenya, will be a key motivator when the two sides clash again. Cafonline.com spoke to Wanyama ahead of the match.

In a pre-match chat with Cafonline, the Celtic of Scotland said, "we started well against Nigeria in Calabar and we therefore, expect to continue with the same performance at home. Overall we dominated proceedings in Calabar and scored a wonder goal through Francis Kahata.

We were let down by lack on concentration that allowed Nigeria to level matters. We want to keep on with that spirit and looking at the players' in camp, they have strong belief that a win is possible."

Wanyama admitted that being the captain of the team has put some pressure on him but sounded optimistic

"It is a difficult position to take because it comes with a lot of responsibility but I am ready to rise up to the occasion.

I was handed the armband during the match in Calabar after Oliech had been substituted though it was for few minutes. We will only play as a team and try to avoid the issue of who is the leader on the pitch because every player is a leader in such big assignments.
