Why was Cristiano Ronaldo clubbing in Lisbon until 7am since He claimed to missed Mourinho's last Madrid match with a bad back... so

CR7 ruled himself out of Jose Mourinho's Real Madrid send-off ahead of Mourinho's return Chelsea with an injury, but it didn't stop him partying until 7am.

The Real Madrid superstar emerged from Lisbon's Lust nightclub at 7am on Sunday morning, just hours after missing Real Madrid's final match of the season amid rumours of a fallout between him and compatriot Mourinho.

Striding out: But Ronaldo had ruled himself out of Jose Mourinho's final match at Real Madrid with a bad back
Ronaldo has been linked with a move away from the Bernabeu, and new Stamford Bridge boss Mourinho delivered a parting shot at the superstar, suggesting he and fellow rebels Pepe and Iker Casillas had deliberately ruled themselves out of his last game in charge, a 4-2 home win over Osasuna.
Mourinho told Spanish television channel Interconomia: ‘The players not in the team had either been declared injured by club doctors, or have declared themselves injured. Pepe, Cristiano and Casillas all ruled themselves out with back pain. They did not train all week and they did not train very well last week either.’

Despite Ronaldo's injury, he is thought to have flown into Portugal on Saturday and is believed to have gone for late dinner at a restaurant before eventually meeting up with some footballer friends - including Reading's Daniel Carrico and countrymen Manuel Fernandes - at the club.

The split between Mourinho and his players was never as clear as in the tunnel before the final home game of the season as he waited until the last moment possible to take to the pitch.

Ronaldo was also in the tunnel waiting to be awarded a post-season prize and not a word was exchanged between the pair.
Madrid defender Alvaro Arbeloa admitted Mourinho had been betrayed by his players.

He said: ‘Mourinho gave everything for the club, always putting it first and sometimes his image was affected by that. I am not sure everyone else, players included, can say  the same.

‘A lot of us worried that we might look bad in the media. We worried about having a good public image and we spoke always for our own benefit. There is a good group of players here and we all have a good relationship but perhaps we lacked maturity at times.’

Ronaldo was also back in training for his national side on Monday ahead of their World Cup Qualifier with Russia on Friday.
Portugal lie third in Group F, one point behind their opponents on Friday - who top the group - and behind Israel on goal difference.

And so by popular demand: the Special One I. Jose Mourinho put back swaggers  to Stamford Bridge as a gun-smoked action man in search of his sequel, striding through wreckage as Real Madrid burns in the distance beside the smouldering remains of Inter Milan.
Mourinho rarely goes quietly, and three divisive years at Madrid ended with a blaze of flashbulbs at the Bernabeu.
Some have wondered openly about his state of mind but there will be no rest. It is straight to Chelsea, his homeland where a heroic reputation is utterly unblemished among fans even if, behind closed doors, people still talk of his less appealing methods of manipulation and control.

Mourinho will squeeze the life from a club in pursuit of his own needs, according to his critics, and he will deliver charm and confrontation in equal measure. In return, his team will compete.

You know what you’re getting with him these days but he will find subtle differences in the place he left six years ago.
Chelsea are a little more cocksure than they were, certain of their place among the elite with a European Cup in the record books. Roman Abramovich will expect Mourinho to operate within a managerial framework, notably liaising with technical director Michael Emenalo.

Mourinho has never been comfortable with those he viewed as company men, imposed from above. There were always clashes with Frank Arnesen and he was suspicious of Avram Grant. He prefers the old-school way of surrounding himself with trusted allies.
Abramovich trusts Emenalo’s quiet diplomacy to overcome issues which were troublesome in the past but no-one knows how this will go in practice.

Mourinho will bring a backroom team which includes loyalists Rui Faria and Silvino Louro, who were with him in his first Chelsea spell.
In the employment of Louro, however, there is potential for conflict given the fascinating dynamic that is the goalkeeper-coaching situation.
Christophe Lollichon is the coach and he and Petr Cech are very tight. But Mourinho trusts Louro, the former Portugal keeper, to the point where he backed him in a conflict with Iker Casillas, the wedge which split the dressing room at Real Madrid.

Cech is one of Chelsea’s dressing-room leaders: intelligent, forthright and respected. He has spoken publicly in support of Mourinho but will not appreciate it if his rhythm is disrupted.
Luiz Felipe Scolari blamed the Cech-Lollichon axis for twisting dressing-room opinion against him, although the goalkeepers always pleaded their innocence.

Lollichon worked with Cech at Rennes before following him to Chelsea to replace Louro after Mourinho and his backroom team were sacked in 2007.
As long as Mourinho handles this well, the goalkeeping position ought to be one of strength for Chelsea.

At 31, Cech is still young for his position and has enjoyed another excellent season, while Thibaut Courtois has established a fine reputation during two years on loan at Atletico Madrid.

The delicate matter of precisely when to recall Courtois will occur at some point but, for the moment at least, the 21-year-old Belgian seems happy to bide his time. Elsewhere, the team require attention and early in the negotiation process with Abramovich, Mourinho is understood to have demanded the backing to rebuild the team and the freedom to target his own players.
Some of these concessions have been made by the owner but Chelsea’s recruitment strategy has changed in the last six years and Mourinho has had to give a little in return.
If this is to be a brief and explosive second coming, as some people predict, then this is an area where conflict is likely to occur. Mourinho wants to sign a top striker but Abramovich won’t want to give him £50m or more to spend on one player.
He will be expected to co-operate with Emenalo, who channels football expertise from the coaching team to an executive level.
Such a relationship was a source of tension before the 2007 split. Abramovich installed Grant in a similar role and he was regarded by Mourinho as little more than a spy. Arnesen usually had an opinion, too.
There were disagreements, such as when the board pushed to sign Alex from PSV because the club already controlled his ownership rights, but Mourinho was not convinced about the Brazilian defender.

The manager made critical asides on such matters and lost patience with Andriy Shevchenko, although there are those at the club who will always insist that in private Mourinho was never quite so opposed to the signing. It was the principle of others meddling in his sphere of expertise which irked him and perhaps he is better equipped to handle this after working at political hot-houses such as Inter and Real.
Solid grounding: Mourinho will have learned much in his time at Real and Inter
Solid grounding: Mourinho will have learned much in his time at Real and Inter
During his absence, the Chelsea policy has been to target younger players, often from Brazil, such as David Luiz and Ramires. Or hot properties like Courtois, Oscar, Eden Hazard and Romelu Lukaku — whom Mourinho does not want to send out on loan.

The club have long been pursuing Lazar Markovic, a 19-year-old ‘second striker’ at Partizan Belgrade. They have competition, notably from Inter.
Abramovich will not reverse this strategy but the middle-ground agreement means he will support Mourinho to strengthen the squad with some oven-ready signings, with a view to challenging for the prestige titles next season.
The Russian will be wise enough to accept the case set out by interim manager Rafa Benitez that this squad, although wonderfully blessed in some areas, is alarmingly thin in others.

Mourinho will want to add power, pace and muscle, hence the interest in Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale. It is hard to see him accommodating the attacking trio of Juan Mata, Oscar and Hazard in one team, as Benitez did. In fact, it’s hard to see him accommodating two of them.
Juan Mata

When at Real, he advised against signing Hazard, but the Belgian finished his first campaign in England in terrific form.
Forward Andre Schurrle is a long-term target of the board and ready to sign from Bayer Leverkusen. His style suits Mourinho’s but his transfer is tied in with Kevin de Bruyne joining Leverkusen on loan. Chelsea may opt to sell De Bruyne for £15m, which is on the table from Borussia Dortmund.
Strikers are a priority. Mourinho would like an upgrade on Fernando Torres, although Monaco’s arrival as big-money team-builders has already seen them beaten for top target Radamel Falcao and may interfere with their interest in Hulk.
Strength and quality is required in midfield, too, with Marouane Fellaini a long-standing target who is expected to be on the move from Everton this summer.
Mourinho will trust Ashley Cole at left back, with Southampton teenager Luke Shaw viewed as a long-term successor, but will expect improvements elsewhere across the back four.
On the way: Germany forward Andre Schurrle is close to joining from Bayer Leverkusen

Although he adapted slightly to satisfy demands at the Bernabeu, his teams have always been defensively solid. David Luiz, wanted by Barcelona, does not seem like a Mourinho player but is an Abramovich favourite, earmarked as a future captain.
The future of Luiz may offer a clue as to how the power-sharing has been divided in the new agreement.
Frank Lampard and Cole agreed new deals after negotiations with Mourinho had been opened and John Terry will be encouraged to stay despite reservations on the board. Terry is 32, into the last year of his contract, and knows he must prove able to compete regularly after a season blighted by injuries. Benitez was reluctant to play him in back-to-back games.
Michael Essien has a year left on his Chelsea contract after spending a season on loan at Real Madrid, where Mourinho  converted him successfully into a right back, a role in which he could continue at Stamford Bridge. Monaco want Branislav Ivanovic — and Monaco’s money is talking at the moment — whereas Cesar Azpilicueta does not have the cut of a Mourinho player.
When he arrived in 2004, the Portuguese manager addressed areas of concern in one sweep, backed by the financial clout of Abramovich. In came Cech, Didier Drogba, Ricardo Carvalho, Arjen Robben and Paulo Ferreira, among others less memorable.

This time he may find it more difficult. For one, he is compromised by the commitment to sign more young players but there are also far more clubs with comparable wealth — Monaco, PSG, Manchester City and Anzhi — and those who always had historic appeal such as Bayern Munich, Barcelona, Real Madrid and Manchester United.
This extends to success on the field, although he will be encouraged by managerial changes in Manchester, which he will view as points of weakness and doubtless seek to exploit.

At Stamford Bridge, Mourinho will be for ever special as the man who brought Chelsea their first title in 50 years. Beyond that, he built the framework for a team which survived a decade, winning trophies every year, and he puts his legacy on the line by daring to return.
No-one would accuse him of dodging a challenge and it will be even more impressive if he can rekindle his success in more testing circumstances.

How I got Nabbed with Hard drugs –Yoruba actress Taiwo Akinwande (Wunmi) reveals

In the ears of many a movie fan, the name, Taiwo Akinwande would hardly ring an immediate bell. But mention her stage name, Yetunde Wunmi, and a lot of faces would light-up instantly. In the Yoruba film industry, Yetunde Wunmi has earned a name for herself. For over three decades, the pretty actress enjoyed tremendous popularity. That was until about six years ago when she was nabbed with hard drugs at the airport on her way to Europe. She was convicted and sentenced to a two-year jail term which she has served. Getting her side of the sad experience was very difficult. It was like engaging a two-year-old kindergarten pupil in a difficult mathematical question. In  this  interview, Wunmi confessed that the drug incident is her only regret in life. “That was the bitter pill that would remain in my system for the rest of my life, and it’s my only regret in life,” she tells The Entertainer. Excerpts: How I was arrested It was on September 19, 2006. I was billed to travel to the United Kingdom. So I got to the airport early enough to catch my plane. But then, I was arrested by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency at the Murtala International Airport in Lagos. I was arrested on drug related offences. Initially, I thought I was in a dream, but it later turned out to be a reality. It was a sad experience for me to remember because that event almost cost me my life. I ended up serving a two-year-jail term. Really, I lost so many things to that incident. And it did a lot of damage to my image  as an actress and  even among my colleagues in the industry. It’s my only regret in life that I had to get involved in drugs. But I thank God that I came out of the mess after serving a two-year jail term. I also thank God that though the situation I found myself was that bad, the news of my drug offence wasn’t that of my obituary. Truly, I have learnt my lessons  the hard way. Lessons learnt I have said it earlier that I have learnt my lessons the hard way. I learnt that nothing in life is permanent, that there are no permanent friends and enemies. During my travails, I learnt lessons about the ups and downs of life. For instance, a rich man today can become poor tomorrow, and a poor man today can become rich tomorrow. Even, I learnt my lessons about death. That, though life is good and worthy to live, death remains the end of all souls. It’s the end, no matter who you are. It was really, a sad story to tell, but I thank God I am still alive to tell the story. What I lost I lost almost everything. For instance, I lost my privacy.  I lost my popularity that I have worked hard for, for about three decades. I lost some of my close friends and my relationship with many people broke-up as a result of the sad incident. Nobody would like to relate with an ex-convict. But, honestly, some of them showed great concern and understanding. They saw my problem as a phase in the course of my career and life as well. They really gave me hope that time heals all wounds and that eventually came to pass. I wouldn’t want to mention names, but there were some of my colleagues that despised me while so many others showed great understanding. They showed me love and concern. It was God that really intervened and strengthened me after I served my two-year jail term. So many people treated my case as that of the prodigal son. The Association of Nigeria Theatre Practitioners (ANTP) actually brought me back to life. They rekindled my hope and my career was put back on track. I was able to overcome the sad experience through the unflinching support of everybody that stood by me during the trying period. It was terrible indeed. But today, the rest is history. How I got back on  my feet It was the grace of God. Even at a particular point in time, I became confused. I didn’t know where to start from, but God really used some people in the entertainment industry to put my career back on track. Since then, I have been enjoying a breakthrough and I’m now back on my feet. The truth is that I didn’t allow my past experience to weigh me down. I didn’t allow it to disturb my future. But I was able to cope during that period through the grace of God. My humility also played a very important role in getting me back on track. It was difficult for me to cope, initially, but one virtue God gave me is humility. And that helped me a lot. Even before the sad incident, I was a very humble person. For me, popularity didn’t get to my head. I don’t brag about anything, but I know quite well that my humility actually helped me a lot during the trying period. I was humble after my humiliating experience, and I felt real great remorse for what actually happened to me. I regretted, and still regret  it. In the end, I saw it as my destiny and the sad experience actually humbled me in life. A new life With God, everything is possible. Since the sad incident, I have started my life anew. I have repented from all my wrongdoings. I even went to Saudi Arabia in 2011 to perform the Hajj and that afforded me the opportunity of telling Almighty Allah all of my earlier trespasses. I confessed my sins in His presence and I promised never to return to such sins. Today, all that is now in the past. Today, everything is new in my life, and I’m always grateful to Almighty Allah who actually preserved my life during that trying period. Now, I’m hopeful that God has answered my prayer because since the time I came back from Saudi Arabia, everything, I mean my whole life, has become new and I’m back on my feet with renewed hope and vigour.

The Bumper 2 Bumper Mavins Artist Wande Coal Parts Ways With MAnager

Mavin Records artiste, Wande Coal has allegedly parted ways with manager, Sunday Are. NET gathered that the singer disclosed this to a few associates; saying Are" has ceased to function as his manager and asked that further dealings should be directed to his new management, according to industry sources Investigations carried out by NET reveals that Sunday Are" who is the CEO of an artiste management outfit, List Entertainment has been a long standing associate of the artiste. Sunday Are' acted in the capacity of a manager to the Mo' Hits team (which comprised of D'banj, Don Jazzy, Wande Coal, Dr. Sid, D' Prince and Kay Switch) before the label was disbanded in 2012. Since 2005, he oversaw the careers of the individual artistes as well as a group. When the label collapsed in 2011, Are continued to manage the career of the newly formed Mavin Records artistes : Wande Coal, D'Prince and Dr. Sid and CEO, Don Jazzy. It is still unclear why Coal who's working to return to the big league, is parting ways with Are. We could not immediately reach the singer for comments as he was away working in South Africa. And Are was apparently too upset to discuss the matter when we contacted him. 'If you know me very well, you will know that Wande is too small for me to talk about. Please don't call me again'. We're told a new manager, named Nana has already been appointed by the singer. Sources say that for some time, Nana had been the one responsible for most of Wande Coal's bookings and management. 'Nana has been Wande's manager for a while. Mr. Are" only camouflages as his manager whenever there's a big deal on the table. In fact he doesn't really do much, but Wande just gives him that respect as an elderly man, and keeps him on', one source told us over the weekend. Terfa Tilley-Gyado, a rep for Mavin Records who talked to NET also confirmed that Nana now runs Wande Coal's management. 'Are is like the general manager for the Mavin crew, but Nana solely manages Wande Coal, and it is not as a result of any problems between them'. With his album release date almost around the corner, the 'Black Diamond', as Wande is fondly called, must be prepping up to put in place a more committed team that can rejuvenate his career. Are, a veteran percussionist and conga player who has worked with the likes of Orlando Julius, Obesere, Majek Fashek and Lagbaja has excelled in artiste management, as his outfit is also home to songstress, Omawumi, jazz musician, Ayodele and rapper, F-Shaw.

How challenging it is to date a celebrity- Lola Omotayo [Peter Okoye's Baby Mama]

Lola Omotayo, the heartthrob of Peter Okoye, one half of the P-Square music stars, talks on how her relationship with the musician started and her plan of being an actress. Excerpts: Many people got to know you when your relationship with Peter Okoye started. Who really is Lola Omotayo? Simply put, what you see is what you get. I can't really define who I am per se, but I'm humble, caring, loving and a professional in the oil and gas profession. I take my work and family very seriously because they are very important to me, my family in particular. Your heartthrob, Peter is quite successful, but you seem not to depend on his wealth. What's your driving force? I believe that as a lady, you have to support your partner. You can't put everything on your partner; it is important to add value as well. Even though I'm not bringing as much as he brings to the table, at least, I'm adding value and making things a lot easier. Honestly, that's the way I was brought up; I can't rely on someone for everything. I have to be independent. I should be able to buy something for my kids without asking their father for money. I feel good as a person knowing that I can do things for myself, not that I want to feel above him in anyway, but I just feel it is important for me to add some value to his life as much as he adds to mine. What advice do you have for Nigerian ladies who put all their financial burdens on their partner? I think that is the core of our problems in this society because we put so much pressure on the man to take care of us, pay our bills…we put so much pressure on them, and that tempts some men to start doing some shady businesses. Women put too much pressure on men in this part of the world. Also, a lot of women are greedy and lazy, so they just want to get married and stop working. It doesn't mean women should go all out and work for the men, but somehow, you just have to make things easy for him. I see a lot of young ladies out there; it is not as if there are no jobs for them to do, the problem is that they don't want to do certain type of jobs, they want everything to come easy. I started the very hard way, I didn't start the easy way like people assume. I had to work myself up there because I had a vision. A lot of young ladies in Nigeria see people driving fancy cars; carrying fancy bags and assume that a man is supposed to do all of that for them, so they sell themselves in order to get it. But you don't have to do that. You can always find ways to make money legally. Ironically, some Nigeria men don't like ladies who don't depend on them. How has that been between you and Peter? I love Peter because he was never intimidated. When I met him, he was just trying to build himself and I was very proud of him. I have a lot of respect for him, his talent and I saw that he had a vision. Peter doesn't get intimidated by anything; in fact, he supports and encourages me all the time. I think he's happy that he doesn't have to do everything; he can rely on me that I will take care of our kids. What actually attracted you to Peter? Peter has drive. He has vision and pursues it. He doesn't let anybody distract him from that vision and that I saw in him, which a lot of people didn't see. Some people were like, 'what are you doing with a musician? Are you crazy?' but I saw something very different and unique about Peter. I saw the goals he set for himself and how he accomplished those goals step by step, and I was very impressed with that. I also saw that he wasn't a selfish person. He was a generous person from the outset, even though he didn't have much then, he was always generous. I like a man who is generous, not for the financial reason, but also to see how he can add value to other people's lives; that is very important to me. He is also a good listener; he listens to people, listens to me…those are the things that attracted me to Peter. He's an amazing guy. How romantic is he? Peter is very romantic as well. He does things that an average Nigerian guy will not do. There was a Valentine's Day that he came to my house with a guitar and played some love ballads for me. That was really cool and I loved it. Those are the little things that he does that really touched me. How challenging is it to date a celebrity? Having a relationship with a musician is one of the most challenging situations to be in. There are things you have to deal with; a lot of women, intruders, fans. You have to appreciate and respect the fans, but you also have some of them who are thinking of other things. I think it's one of the most challenging relationships one can have. You won't even spend much time with your partner because he's on the road most of the time doing shows and concerts; even during holidays like Christmas, Easter and New Year, they are not around. So I'm not really enjoying that part. But I thank God that we are managing it very well. With your background in theatre arts, should we expect you in Nollywood soon? No. it's not my thing anymore. Maybe I had the interest 10 years ago, but not now. But if I have to make films, it will be Yoruba movies.

Justin Bieber's neighbours up in arms as they threaten to 'withhold service charges over his bad behaviour'

He's proved to be an unpopular neighbour since moving into a gated community in Calabasas, Los Angeles last year. However, it appears Justin Bieber's alleged bad behaviour could now hit the private estate's owners in the pocket as some locals are refusing to pay their monthly service charges. Residents in the upmarket neighbourhood pay $1,000 a month for residential services, such as security and street cleaning. However, many home owners believe the Homeowner Association (HOA) have failed to do enough over Justin's reckless behaviour. The 19-year-old has reportedly frequently upset neighbours with noisy house parties and speeding in recent months. In March, he was reported to have spat in a neighbour's face after he was confronted over speeding in his Ferrari. The Los Angeles Sheriff's Department are said to be investigating the incident, during which Justin was alleged to have said: 'I'm going to f**king kill you.' With Justin clashing with former American football player Keyshawn Jackson as recently as last week over speeding, residents are planning to withhold their monthy fees until something is done, according to TMZ. Around 500 residents pay the $1,000 monthly charge, so the HOA could lose a lot of money over the issue. The locals want the HOA to give Justin a stern reminder about the neighbourhood rules, which include noise from parties, his friends parking on the street overnight and speeding. Last Monday, former NFL player Keyshawn, who lives on the community with his four children, confronted Justin after he zoomed past him at high speed. Keyshawn was reported to have jumped in his Prius and chased the singer and blocked his Ferrari in the driveway. However, Justin rushed into his $6.5milion, seven-bedroomed mansion without speaking to him. L.A. County Sheriff spokesman Steve Whitmore confirmed to TMZ they have received two seperate calls regarding the singer's driving. Keyshawn's agent Jerome Stanley said his client was 'very, very, very livid', adding: 'Keyshawn is taking the situation very seriously. He wants Justin to slow down and be a responsible neighbour.' Former American football player Eric Dickerson, who also lives in the area, has tweeted his disdain about Justin's reckless driving. He tweeted last Tuesday: 'I live in Calabasas too and @justinbieber needs to slow his a*s down. 'Hey @justinbieber I use to have a white Ferrari too, but I knew the speed limit in neighborhoods where kids played. 'Just to be clear, I think @justinbieber is a talented young man. But as a parent of young kids the reckless driving concerns me.'

Denilson contract cancelled

Denilson will leave Arsenal this summer after the Brazilian’s contract was cancelled. The 25-year old, who has made over 150 appearances for the North London club, has spent the last two seasons on loan at Sao Paulo. Denilson has one year left to run on his Arsenal deal, but according to the player’s agent his time with Arsene Wenger’s side is over. ‘I can confirm Denilson and Arsenal have agreed to terminate his contract at the end of this month,’ Alexandre Soares said. ‘Denilson is free to move to another club and a number of clubs are interested in him. ‘I do not want to name teams, but there is interest from Brazil as well as Russia, Italy, Germany and Turkey and I am talking to them. ‘No decision has been made and we will assess all offers that come our way. ‘If Denilson does stay in Brazil, Sao Paulo has the priority, but I do not rule out him moving to another Brazilian club as well.’ Denilson was shown a straight red card for a deliberate handball in Sao Paulo’s match with Atletico Mineiro.

Sign up or move on! Van Nistelrooy says Rooney MUST commit to United... or leave

Ruud van Nistelrooy has urged Wayne Rooney to pledge his future to Manchester United or find another club. Last month, departing manager Sir Alex Ferguson revealed he had rejected a transfer request from the England international. Sorting the 27-year-old's future is one of the key things for new boss David Moyes to address but former United striker Van Nistelrooy - who left Old Trafford for Real Madrid in 2006 - expects it will ultimately be the player's decision. 'It is a matter of how he feels. If he feels he is committed to the club I think there is an opening,' said the Dutchman. 'If he says there isn't I don't think there is a future for him but it is up to him. 'I think the fans would love him to stay but it depends on the commitment. 'If he is fully here everyone loves him but when he is not fully committed it is probably better to move on.' Former Red Devils defender Henning Berg also thinks Rooney will have final say on the matter, although he does not expect United to give in easily. 'It is up to Wayne Rooney. If he is 100 per cent committed and wants to play and that is everything he has to go for he has the talent and the qualities to play a big part at this club,' he said after a United v Real Madrid legends game in aid of the Manchester United Foundation. 'I think David Moyes and Rooney have to talk about that and if Rooney feels it is not 100 per cent for him then maybe things will change. 'I don't know too much about the history (of Rooney's transfer requests) but with David Moyes coming in they have to sit down and talk about it - but ultimately Wayne has to see what he feels. 'He is still under contract so I think the club is still in a good position.'

REVEALED: How Nigerian Filling Stations Cheat Customers

Sharp practices in the downstream sector of the Nigerian petroleum industry have continued to have a heavy toll on end users as many fillings stations selling Premium Motor Spirit also known as petrol in the country have resorted to under-dispensing of the product. The nefarious activity perpetrated by petroleum marketers has gone unnoticed by many motorists as they drive into the filling stations to fill their tanks. For every ten liters sold to a motorist, it is not unlikely that he drives away with less than seven litres due to the adjusted meters by the filling stations. The implication is that the petroleum marketer gains additional three liters. According to findings, petroleum marketers make about N4 per litre on a truck load of 33,000 liters as they buy around N93 per liter (depot price plus transportation cost) to bring the cost of purchase to N3.069.000. When sold at the regulated price of N97 per liter, actual profit will amount to N132, 000. But to hike their profit margin, investigations revealed that the marketers adjust their fuel pump meters. For instance, ten liters of fuel will cost N970 at the rate of N97 per liter. But with the adjusted meter, motorists pay the actual price (N970) but drives away with about six liters which amounts to N582. So there is a difference of N388 which has fraudulently gone to the purse of oil marketers. To magnify the marketers smooth operation, multiply N388 by the average of 10 million under-dispensed litres out of the 30 million litres of petrol consumed daily in the country and what you get is N3.8 billion loss to motorists. Nigeria's petroleum regulator, Department of Petroleum Resources, DPR,saddled with the responsibility of regulating, monitoring and enforcing the laws in the sector, used the Seraphin Can to expose filling stations involved in the nefarious act in Lagos recently. The ten-liter Seraphin Can is used by the DPR to ascertain the exact dispensing meter measurement of filling stations. When filled to the level of ten liters, dispensing meters that have been adjusted will show above ten liters on the display board. When this occurs, the filling station is shut by DPR officials. DPR said over 500 filling stations had been shut for under-dispensing and other related offences. According to the regulatory body, other offences committed by filling stations include compromise of safety standards and lack of proper storage facilities. The DPR Manager, Downstream, Lagos Zone, Mr. Kunle Soyebo, said the purpose of the recent monitoring which yielded the filling stations under-dispensing was to ensure strict adherence to rules and regulations in the downstream sector. "The exercise, which you have just witnessed, is carried out by our men twice every week. Any filling station operator that fails to comply with rules and regulation will have his licence revoked," Soyebo said. "For the affected stations, we have issued them letters to report to our office and, if they fail to show up, their licences will be revoked. So far, we have been able to shut over 500 filling stations across the country. These stations will remain shut until they comply with our rules and regulations." During the exercise, it was, however, discovered that there are some good guys in the business who adhere to the rules on the dispensing of petroleum products. Major oil marketers were not found wanting as they maintained a clean sheet in their operations while their names were engraved in the good books of the DPR.

Who would turn Wayne down? Arsene Wenger drops hint over move for Rooney and claims Fabregas is unsettled at Barca

Arsene Wenger has admitted that he would not turn down the chance to sign unsettled Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney. The England striker, who scored a brilliant solo effort against Brazil on Sunday night, has signalled his desire to leave Manchester United in the summer. Last month, Sportsmail broke the news that Arsenal are growing increasingly confident they are able to finance a record-breaking move for Rooney. And Wenger has dropped the biggest hint yet that he is ready to make a move for the 27-year-old. ‘Rooney could be an interesting player for everybody in the world, who would turn him down?’ Wenger told Al Jazeera. ‘David Moyes' first challenge is to go in to Manchester and bridge the gap between him and Rooney. ‘If that is feasible or not depends on his personality and if Rooney bears a grudge or not, we will see. It will be interesting to see how that will be handled.’ Wenger is also interested in bringing former captain Cesc Fabregas back to the Emirates and believes the midfielder is suffering from a lack of first-team action at Barcelona. Under the terms of his move to the Nou Camp back in 2011, the Gunners could be offered the chance of re-signing the Spaniard for as little as £20million should Manchester United, who are keen on signing the former Arsenal captain, formalise their interest. 'I think at the moment he's lacking the confidence of being a regular player,' added Wenger. 'Recently he has not been that. 'Cesc is such a passionate player, a player of such quality, that it must hurt him not to play in every single game. That's what he misses. When you come in and out you never play with full confidence.'

Anything Neymar can do, Rooney can do better...

They are among the stars of the FIFA generation, with their tricks and skills, but Neymar and Wayne Rooney seem to be going in separate directions. As Rooney returns to Manchester with  his future uncertain, Neymar will fly to Barcelona for his medical on Monday following a multi-million transfer. But Rooney was the striker who scored at the Maracana on Sunday night, while Neymar went home empty handed. They both wore the iconic No 10 shirt in the re-opened Maracana. For Brazil it was the shirt of Pele and Zico… for England it was the shirt of Gary Lineker, Sir Trevor Brooking, Sir Geoff Hurst…and John Barnes in the Maracana in 1984. This is how they fared… Neymar, as would be expected, had more of the ball in the early exchanges, including one free kick that was easily saved by Joe Hart. The Brazilians of Socrates and Roberto Carlos might have done better from 25 yards. Neymar, the new star, could be seen coming off the front and dropping deep to collect the ball - a striker and a playmaker rolled into one. We used to think the same about Rooney. When Theo Walcott burst forward after 17 minutes, a sloppy exchange pass from Rooney ended that advance and Brazil went back to their rhythmic passing. One team in red, one team in yellow and an orange ball. Neymar might have scored after 18 minutes when sloppy defending by Glen Johnson saw him one-on-one against Manchester City keeper Hart, but the goalkeeper made himself big and blocked the shot. After his poor display at Wembley earlier this season, Neymar looked determined to put on a show. After 21 minutes, he created space on the edge of the England box, but sent a wicked, dipping shot wide of the far post. A long diagonal pass by James Milner, gave Rooney a chance to show he still has the pace. He tried to outmuscle Chelsea defender David Luiz and forced a corner, which was wasted by England. Luiz was in the way again when Rooney and Walcott linked to counter, but the shot was blocked by the Chelsea man. Luiz, in fact, seemed to be enjoying his battle with Rooney and looked to be coming out on top. Neymar showed he is prepared to put the hard graft in too as he chased back (and fouled) Michael Carrick, who was awarded a free kick. Rooney had little support, apart from the occasional bursts from Walcott to join him in the attacking third. He must have wondered what it must be like to play in the Brazilian team with creativity and support. Half time 0-0 and Neymar clearly the better of the two No 10’s. Neymar: 8 (out of 10). Rooney: 5. England started the second half with more purpose, but poor passing options were taken by Walcott and Milner, which again frustrated Rooney. After a reasonable opening, England went back to sloppy passing and a dipping Neymar corner required some urgent defending. It was Fred, Neymar’s attacking sidekick who scored - just as he had done at Wembley. He was playing with a cracked rib and broke England’s resistance. A James Milner cross was just too high for Rooney and England began to look tired and wide open.Neymar was penalised for a foul on England sub Ashley Cole but they were all friends as they hugged. Rooney should have equalised after 64 minutes with a header - a free header - from a corner. But he failed to make the correct contact and the ball drifted wide. When you are up against it and chances are few and far between, world class strikers finish chances like that. England were level in the 66th minute with the sort of goal Rooney used to score, with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain drilling the shot home from outside the box. With the game becoming more strung out, Rooney has a shot charged down while Neymar seems to have gone off the boil. And then England breakaway and Cole’s run takes the defender away and Rooney bends a sensational shot into the top corner that took a slight deflection. But it was the Rooney of old - direct running, a stunning finish and a goal that said: ‘Come and get me’ to Europe’s big clubs. Or maybe Manchester United might not want to sell him after all. Full time 2-2 and Rooney strikes back in the battle of the No 10’s. Neymar: 7 (out of 10). Rooney 8. Well, goals change games and can change verdicts too.

Syria Rebels Clash With Hezbollah In Lebanon

Syria rebel
At least one member of Lebanon’s Hezbollah group has been killed overnight in clashes with Syrian rebels in Lebanon’s eastern border region.
Lebanese security sources reported the death on Sunday, saying that about 15 rebels had also been killed in the violence, east of Baalbek in the Bekaa Valley.
The conflict in Syria has been increasingly spilling over to its smaller neighbour, with deadly fighting shaking the northern Lebanese city of Tripoli, and rockets hitting the Bekaa Valley and Beirut’s southern suburbs.
Syrian rebels have said they will carry out attacks inside Lebanon in response to Hezbollah’s support for President Bashar al-Assad’s assault on Qusayr, a strategic town for rebel weapons supplies and fighters coming into Syria from Lebanon

Omotola Paid $650,000 To Get Selected For “TIME 100″ Most Influential Person In The World?!

omotolatime
The rumour mongers are at work again, lol!
According to celebrity blogger sheifunmi,  Omotola Ekeinde actually paid $650,00 to get selected for the TIME 100 most influential persons in the world....oh really?
See his report below:
Before we get into it and stans or celebrities with mild relevance start coming at me with a bullet-less gun thinking they have a shot, let’s get one thing out of the way; This is a gossip type website. Any information contained on this site is reported as rumor and not actual facts unless receipts(proofs) are shown, official news/confirmation from a celeb’s rep/camp or i am talking about my own experiences. Do not take offense to any material on this site because everyone has the right to their side of the story. I am willing to hear all sides. Anyone in this industry, including myself will be subject to being put on blast. What you see is what you get! This is all for your own entertainment purposes… Now moving on.
An insider who happens to work closely with the most loved actress squealed details about Omotola making 2013 TIME Magazine 100 (Most Influential People in the World) list, stating that the actress paid a whooping sum of 650,000 dollars (which is over a 100 million naira if converted) to get a slot on that list.
Now i don’t know how true this is but i won’t find it amusing if she paid to make the list. Rich people (especially Nigerians) tend to pay for a lot of things (like Grammy,MTV,Bet award tickets which comes in different packages but the one they mostly go for is the full package with the hotel covered, access to Clive David’s pre-grammys party, red carpet, a seat next to a celebrity and after party, Forbes list, etc) to get recognised or live that ‘party with celebrities’ lifestyle.

N25m Compensation: Baba Suwe Vows To Appeal Case Against NDLEA

baba-suwe
Following the ruling of the Appeals court which dismissed an earlier verdict of a Lagos High Court granting him N25 million in his suit against the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, Mr. Babatunde Omidiran, popularly known as Baba Suwe, has vowed to appeal the Appellate Court’s ruling.
The Court of Appeals had on Friday, ruled that NDLEA had good reasons to detain Baba Suwe, and set aside the N25 million awarded by Justice Yetunde Idowu of a Lagos High Court, to the ace comedian.
Speaking through his lawyer, Mr. Bamidele Aturu, weekend, in Lagos, Baba Suwe said the Court of Appeals’ decision would be taken to the Supreme Court because it was one that could encourage the culture of impunity on the part of law enforcement agencies.
“If we do not appeal the decision, history will not forgive us. We shall be heading to the Supreme Court.
“It is a matter of public duty now.
“As soon as we get the judgment, within three or four days the appeal will be ready. Let the Supreme Court finally rule on it. We think this can also encourage the culture of impunity on the part of law enforcement agencies.”

EXCLUSIVE: Jose Mourinho out to strike deal that returns glory days to Chelsea

Jose-Mourinho-bids-farewell-to-Real-Madrid-and-is-set-to-be-appointed-manager-of-Chelsea-again Jose Mourinho bids farewell to Real Madrid, and is set to be appointed manager of Chelsea again
Mourinho is set to be announced today as Chelsea’s new manager, nine years and one day after he first arrived at the club labelling himself the Special One, before taking them to back-to-back league titles.
He flew into London yesterday afternoon after his last game in charge of Real Madrid on Saturday night with a 4-2 win over Osasuna.
Chelsea have already signed Andre Schurrle for £30 million from Bayer Leverkusen.
Now Mourinho wants a striker. Fernando Torres or Demba Ba may well be sold to make room, with Romelu Lukaku returning from his successful loan spell with West Brom.
The top target is Florentina’s Steven Jovetic, who would cost around £25m. But Chelsea face stiff competition for the 23-year-old from Arsenal and Juventus.

Chelsea have already signed Andre Schurrle for £30 million from Bayer Leverkusen
Abramovich has already seen one big target in Radamel Falcao slip through his fingers this summer, the Atletico Madrid striker joining Monaco.
Edinson Cavani, the Napoli striker, is rated too expensive at £52m, but Chelsea are still monitoring as he nears a move to Manchester City.
Chelsea have also spoken to Galatasaray about Turkish striker Burak Yilmaz.
Mourinho wants talks with Lukaku and another loanee, goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois, when he begins work with the squad next month, before deciding whether to allow them to go out on loan again.
He was last night finalising his four-year, £12m-a-year deal with Abramovich, which should be signed today.

England glimpse at promised land with a draw to Brazil

In Wayne Rooney’s case, everyone had almost forgotten. He needed to make a statement. He needed to lift a load off his mind at the end of a troubling season. He needed to remind the world and himself that he was born to do special things with a football, not to mope and worry.
So he did it by scoring for England from 25 yards on the night they re-opened the stadium where the Brazilians had just spent the first half of this extraordinary match teaching the English why the Maracana requires a much bigger trophy room than Wembley.
Out of a night which looked like it was going to confirm so many depressing realities for Roy Hodgson’s schizophrenic team, Rooney summoned up a moment befitting the grand stage here.
It was a reminder that the unique and gifted sportsmen can do the unexpected at the most critical moments. It will, it is to be hoped, inspire the men around him who looked so sluggish for so long last night that there may be similar glories and grandeur on offer to them in this land of football passion and romance if they sort out their haphazard World Cup qualifying campaign.

How infuriating can this England team be? Forty-seven years of hurt. And counting
With any luck – and still we will need it – Rooney is now going to charge through England’s Autumn of qualifiers fuelled by the dazzling memory of what he did. In fact, if he wants to come back here and do the same thing all over again at the tournament next summer, then his mission is already clear. He may, indeed, be surplus to requirements at Manchester United but England simply cannot do without him.
How infuriating can this England team be? Forty-seven years of hurt. And counting. Then a polite, but damning, observation in the Maracana’s match programme that they “have not been much of a threat since 1996”. Last night’s first-half performance looked like England had come to Brazil to do nothing but hope to escape without too many wounds. Now, though, we have not one, but two wonder goals, scored in the stadium which is the spiritual home of the greatest football nation the world has known.
And the equally paradoxical fact was that Rooney’s goal helped Hodgson’s side secure a draw which looks impressive because of its setting when, in fact, they had been played off the park throughout the first half. It was also due to the fact that the Brazilians who had looked so much more dangerous began piling on substitutes and lost their way.
But perhaps the dazzle with which Neymar threatened Joe Hart’s goal in the first half is little more than that – mere glitter. Certainly, the Brazilians are worried they are not as good as they should be.
englanbd, football, future, orange, ball, boring, sombre, retreat, opponents, dazzling, skillWayne Rooney, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Frank Lampard celebrate on a night where England struggled
That impression was confirmed once Hodgson sent on Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and shifted Phil Jones out of midfield to right back. Then, his side finally looked like they could make a game of this celebratory occasion.
Throughout the first half, this had been another of those increasingly regular matches when our national side puts on a display of its new, but not very inspiring or interesting way of playing.
Bereft of creative talent and shredded of so many key players by injury, they seemed incapable of offering anything more than the damage-limitation exercise which they got away with for nearly an hour. Hodgson had set up a 4-5-1 formation and it looked like the idea was simply to get back on the night flight across the Atlantic relatively unscathed.
In truth, that idea only remained intact by half-time because of the excellence of England’s goalkeeper, Hart.
At that point, you wondered if anyone would really miss England if they do not make it back here next summer.
After Oxlade-Chamberlain’s equaliser and then Rooney’s instant of inspiration, though, England got their glimpse of Brazil’s footballing Promised Land. Now they know precisely what they will miss if they fail in the Autumn.
