Messi Is Better Than Me – Neymar Admits

Neymar has hailed new team-mate Lionel Messi as the planet’s greatest player and insisted he is at the club to support the Argentine.

The Brazilian made his debut for the club this week following his £50million move from hometown club Santos, and looked right at home during a 15-minute cameo.

There has been much talk about how the extravagently skilled forward would fit into the team of superstars, but the 21-year-old insists it has been an enjoyable learning curve so far.

‘My relationship with Messi is wonderful, he’s a great person,’ he told a news conference on Thursday. ‘He’s a leader, the best player in the world, and I am here to help.

‘I’m here to help all my team-mates, be it with passes or with goals,’

‘The atmosphere in the team is wonderful. I’m living a dream. I turn my head and I see Messi, Xavi, Iniesta or Puyol. There is Pedro, Tello and Alexis, all great players, fast, smart. That’s why they play for Barca.

‘I try to speak with everyone, but the players I’m talking with the most are Dani Alves, Adriano, Messi, Pinto and Xavi.

‘Playing with Barca is a wonderful feeling, it means my childhood dream turning into reality. I’m more than happy.’

He added: ‘I will work very hard in the coming weeks, trying to be in good shape when La Liga starts. I’m working to get better physically and I feel stronger every day.

‘I am trying to adapt as quickly as possible to the fast pace here. It’s the most beautiful football in the world.’

He concluded: ‘Romario, Ronaldo and Rivaldo have been three great players here. I also hope to make history at the club.’

How My Mother Sold My Baby – 17-Year-Old Girl Confesses

Seventeen-year-old Blessing Godspower,  on Wednesday narrated how her mother sold her (Godspower) eight-month-old baby.

The mother, Onyinyechi Nwabueze, 38, was paraded by the police at the  'A' Division of the Plateau State Police Command.

Policemen from the division, led by the Divisional Police Officer, Mr. Victor Dimkpa, a Chief Superintendent of Police, had rescued the baby, Chiamaka, in Awka, the Anambra State capital.

Blessing, who was staying with her mother at Rukuba Road area of Jos North, was allegedly put in the family way by her boyfriend.

After Chiamaka was delivered, Godspower's mother, who was not comfortable with the development, allegedly decided to get rid of the baby.

According to Blessing, on July 19, her mother sent her on a phony errand in order to effect the "diabolical" act.

She said, "My mother sent me on an errand, but when I came back I asked for my baby and my mother asked, 'which baby?' She feigned ignorance and at that point I started crying and reported the incident to the Police."

Police Commissioner, Mr. Chris Olakpe said, "After the mother sent her daughter away, she (Nwabueze) stopped a tricycle and took the baby to the first receiver, one Eucharia Anyaegbu. Anyaegbu transferred the baby to the second receiver, Rita Maduako, who finally sold the baby to 53-year-old unmarried woman, Grace Nnadozie."

Nnadozie, however, said that after she applied to an orphanage home for a child without any result for the past two years, she sought Anyaegbu's help.

She said  she gave N500,000 to Anyaegbu for the baby. Anyaegbu gave N350,000 to Maduako.  Maduako was to give N200,000 to the baby's grandmother.

But Nwabueze denied that she sold the baby.  She said her daughter was very wayward, so she decided to give the baby out to somebody else who would take proper care of her.

She said, "How can I sell my granddaughter. My daughter is not capable of taking care of the baby and I decided to give her to somebody who will take proper care of her."

Nwabueze explained that she lost her husband in 2007 and since then, she and the six children she had with him, had been finding things difficult.

APGA Threatens To Sue APC, Fashola For N2bn

The All Progressive Grand Alliance has threatened to sue the newly-registered All Progressives Congress and the Lagos State Governor, Babatunde Fashola (SAN), for listing it in an advertorial as one of the four parties that merged to form the new party.

The National Chairman of APGA, Chief Victor Umeh, stated this on Thursday just as the African Peoples Congress described the recognition of the APC by INEC as "a black market registration."

Umeh, at a news conference in Abuja, gave Fashola seven days' ultimatum within which to publish a retraction in the newspapers where he published the advertorial congratulating the APC for a successful registration.

He said," Coming from a senior lawyer, we are sure that the governor knows the obvious implications of this advertorial which we detest. It is a mischief contrived to deceive all our teaming supporters in Nigeria and worldwide that APGA has now become part of the APC. Governor Fashola cannot claim not to know that APGA never submitted itself to any merger talks with the three parties(Action Congress of Nigeria, Congress for Progressive Change and All Nigeria Peoples Party) and other interest groups that came together to form the APC.

"He is aware that at no time did any APGA official appear in any meeting where merger talks were held. He is also aware that APGA leadership has consistently made it clear to Nigerians that it was never part of the merger talks and will never be a part of it.

"Surprisingly this (Thursday) morning, our party's logo was so fraudulently inserted in an advertorial with the intention to deceive all our supporters."

Umeh recalled that INEC while announcing the registration of the APC named the parties that merged as the CPC, the ANPP and the ACN, adding that the commission did not say it was withdrawing the certificate of APGA, unlike the other three parties.

Umeh said, "How could a SAN, who is also a governor of a state go and insert an APGA logo in a publication. We want to make it abundantly clear that this was a clearly orchestrated, premeditated action by Governor Fashola to deceive supporters of APGA. On behalf of our party, we are calling on Governor Fashola to publish a retraction of the advertorial removing APGA logo in all the newspapers that our logo appeared today(Thursday) within seven days.

"In addition to our demands for retraction of the publication, we are also referring the matter to our lawyers to formally write Governor Fashola to pay us N2bn in damages or face legal action.

"While we congratulate the APC for realising its dream of becoming a mega party called APC, fraudulently using APGA logo will not be accepted by our party. Politics of confusion must be avoided in Nigeria. Anybody can meet to do whatever he likes but it must be within the law. The process of merging of political parties is clearly known to everybody.

"ACN had its convention where they approved that they would become part of the APC. ANPP had a convention where its members also approved that they would become part of the APC; the same with the CPC. But APGA was not known to have organised any convention to approve joining the APC."

The APGA chairman added another dimension to the controversy over the dumping of over 70 destitute persons in Onitsha, saying it was an attempt by the APC to plan electoral malpractice during election in Anambra State.

He warned that any attempt to use the destitute whom he claimed were non-Nigerians to perpetuate electoral malpractice in the state would be resisted.

5 Signs You Are Unemployable

Entrepreneurs often joke that they're unemployable. There's a lot of truth to that. Yahoo! acquired micro blogging software Tumblr for $1.1 billion this June, and asked founder David Karp to stay on as an employee. Do you think he'll still be with the company by Labor Day?

Forbes reports that Karp walked away from the Yahoo! deal with roughly $200 million, so he doesn't need the job. Obviously, it is more than his financial independence that will drive him out of Yahoo! It could be that he is probably unemployable.

Here are five signs that you, too, may be unemployable:

1. You're smarter than your boss, even though you don't have an MBA

True entrepreneurs get bored quickly in school. The list of college dropouts includes Tumblr's Karp and other names you might know: Steve Jobs, Mark Zuckerberg, Larry Ellison, Michael Dell and Bill Gates, to name just a handful out of hundreds of household names that did not have the patience for school.

Big companies use advanced degrees as a way to filter out candidates for hiring and advancement; so if you don't have an MBA, you'll forever be smarter than the guy or gal you're working for.

2. You get distracted easily

JetBlue's founder David Neeleman is one of the more public examples of the well-documented link between ADD/ADHD and entrepreneurship. Some say his ADD/ADHD contributed to the board removing Neeleman as JetBlue's CEO in 2007. Many studies have made the connection between ADD/ADHD and entrepreneurship. There is even a LinkedIn group called "The ADD/ADHD Entrepreneur" for these entrepreneurs to connect online.

Signs you have ADD/ADHD include being distracted easily, starting several projects without finishing them, and being a hands-on learner. Sound familiar? If so, don't expect to last as a company man or woman.

3. You think visually

Have you downloaded the Penultimate app for your iPad because you like to draw ideas? Do you find yourself jumping to the white board in a meeting room to try to describe a situation visually? An inclination towards visual thinking is an indicator of ADD/ADHD and another sign you should avoid getting a job where you have to lobby for your ideas in writing.

4. You have trouble listening to others

Some entrepreneurs love talking about themselves. They like describing in detail their latest innovation, which is great if you're in the mood to be regaled. The problem is this: If you try to enter into the discussion, their eyes start to drift, and it's clear they are just waiting for a lull in the conversation so they can start talking again. It's so natural; you probably don't even know you're doing it, so ask a buddy you trust or a spouse who will give it to you straight. If you tend to be distracted when other people are talking, avoid going to work for someone who not only will want to talk, but who also will expect–even insist–that you listen.

5. You start lots of projects that go unfinished

Be honest: Do you find yourself starting something only to lose steam when you come up with your next great idea? That's fine if you run your own company where you can delegate the execution to others, but it also makes you difficult to manage. Bosses like innovation to a point, but companies need employees who have the patience to see their ideas through.

Every entrepreneur has been faced with the question: Should I get a job? Some new grads decide to put their entrepreneurial dreams on hold to get some training on someone else's dime before they start a business. Other owners get an offer to buy their company, contingent on them working for the acquirer for a few years. In still other cases, the entrepreneur's company fails, leaving him with the decision to start something new or get a job to make ends meet.

Which leaves you, the entrepreneur, with one more question: Are you employable? If not, you–like Karp–should probably stick with owning a company, not working for one. -Leadership

Couple, Baby, Motorcyclist Crushed To Death By Bus In Lagos

Tragedy struck, yesterday, along Sagamu road, in Ikorodu area of Lagos, after four persons were crushed by a commercial bus. The deceased, included a man, his wife, their one and half-year-old baby and the commercial motorcyclist.

Eye witnesses said that a commercial bus known as danfo rammed into a motorbike which was conveying the family of three to an unknown destination.

Immediately the incident occurred, the eye witness said the driver of the commercial bus zoomed off, abandoning the victims in the middle of the road.

"It was a pathetic sight this morning. What attracted us was a bang and before we knew what was happening, we saw the motorcyclist, a man, his wife and their male child sprawled on the ground. They were flung in different directions on the road.

"Another vehicle even ran over the man. To avoid further damage to the corpses, people started flagging down vehicles plying the route. Just then, some policemen from Sagamu division arrived the scene and took the bodies away," the eye witness, Adewusi Oladimeji said.

The policemen were said to have searched the victims, apparently with a view to ascertaining their identities. In the process, an identity card was reportedly found on the commercial motorcyclist bearing the name Olatunji.

One of the sympathizers was said to have identified the passenger and his wife as Mr and Mrs Yaya Mogaji. The unknown sympathizer who said the family was from the northern part of the country, disclosed that the one and half-year-old baby was the couple's only child.

The bodies were said to have been removed by the policemen including the wrecked motorbike.

Police sources told Vanguard that investigation was ongoing with a view to apprehending the fleeing driver of the commercial bus.

But the police were reportedly finding things difficult as those who claimed to be at the scene when the incident occurred were not ready to give the police clues on what they could use to effect to effect the driver's arrest or identify the vehicle.

I Raped Only 6 Children, Bank Driver Confesses

A 50-year-old driver in one of the new generation banks, arrested for allegedly raping a 10-year-old girl, Zainab, who feigned ignorance of the implication of his offence, has told the police at the Kano State Police Command, Bompai police division, that he has successfully had carnal knowledge of five other minors in the past.

The alleged rapist, Malam Yusif Ibrahim, a resident of Hayye Hotoron Arewa Quarters, Nassarawa local government area, is married with 11 children.

Yusif told newsmen that it all started when Zainab, his neighbour's daughter met him where he was buying a local snack, 'Awara' for his little children and she asked him to buy for her too but he only had N20 on him at the time so he promised to buy it for her at another time.

The alleged rapist said on the day of the incident, he had just finished his night prayers and went out to buy some things from a shop after which he had N150 left and on his way back, he saw Zainab close to his house and they got talking, during which he asked her if she had fasted to which she agreed and he promised to reward her financially.

He said he made sure Zainab entered his private room to get the money after which "I brought out N100 and gave her thinking it was N50 I gave because we were in the dark and instead of her to just go, she stayed back.

"Having seen that she was still there, I brought her into my arms and intended to have canal knowledge of her but she had her pants on. I lost my erection in the process and Zainab even helped to caress my penis to make it erect for possible penetration but I couldn't penetrate her so I ejaculated on her body."

He also said shortly after she left, her mother came to him and asked whether he was the person that gave her daughter N100 and he agreed with a promise that it will never happen again.

The driver said he was ignorant of the consequences of his action, even as he said the bank manager disowned him at the police station, saying he must pay the price for his offence.

Meanwhile, Zainab's uncle, Alhaji Magaji Yahaya, told newsmen that Zainab's mother confronted him with the sad news that their neighbour had raped little Zainab, saying she confirmed to him that blood was coming out of her vagina when they first saw her coming out of Malam Yusif's house.

He mentioned that on that night they rushed Zainab and the culprit to Murtala Muhammad Specialist Hospital for medical attention and confirmation of what really happened to their daughter, even as he confirmed that Malam Yusif was a serial rapist as they gathered that he raped the daughters of Malam Musa, Malam Dan Hussaini, Malam Haladu Gemu and Hajiya Hansatu. -Leadership

2 Store Keepers Jailed 24 Years For Stealing Mosquito Nets

An Asaba Chief Magistrate's Court has sentenced head storekeeper attached to Millennium Development Goals, MDGs, office Asaba and his assistant to 24 years imprisonment for stealing treated mosquito nets.

The nets were procured by the Federal Government for six states in the South-South geo-political zone and kept in the warehouse.

Jailed were Mr. Mike Okonkwo, Head of Store, MDGs office, Asaba and Mrs. Finecountry Tracy, his assistant.

Incidentally, the businessman, who purchased the nets from the storekeepers, Ugwu Joseph, jumped bail during trial and was still at large when the judgment was delivered, Monday.

Delivering judgment, Chief Magistrate S. C. Ehikwe sentenced the storekeeper and his assistant to three years imprisonment with hard labour on each of the four counts for which they were found guilty. Sentences are, however, to run concurrently.

The magistrate also ordered that: "The police is urged to intensify their efforts to get Ugwu Ugochukwu arrested as the bench warrant issued for his arrest and his surety to show cause was extended.

"When arrested, warrant to serve his jail term would be signed in line with the terms of the second and third accused persons. It is further ordered that his surety wherever found should be arrested to face his own charge."

Counsel to the third accused, Mr. F. N. Monye had pleaded for "utmost leniency," saying that third accused is a housewife and urged the court to be lenient with her, same for the second accused he claimed that he was a victim of circumstance.

The court, however, noted that: "The issue of mercy and leniency depends on the nature of the case. Those who are privileged to be entrusted with the welfare of the less privileged should regard such a responsibility as a sacred duty bestowed on them by God."

"Denying the less privileged the benefit of health care which is the only way the government can get to them is not only a sin against humanity but a crime against God. Such people do not deserve mercy. The punishment is to serve as a deterrent to others."

Prosecution had told the court in one of the charges that; "You Ugwu Ugochukwu (male) Mike Okonkwo (male) and Finecountry Tracy (female) on or about the month of June, 2011 at Millennium Development Goals warehouse located at the back of the Police Headquarters Asaba within the Asaba magisterial district stole 100 balls of treated mosquito nets valued six million naira, two baby weighing scales valued one hundred thousand naira property of Federal Republic of Nigeria under the custody of MDG Delta State and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 390(9) of the Criminal.

One Dies As Explosion Rocks Dangote Cement Plant

Emotion ran high, Wednesday, evening, at the Gboko plant of the Dangote Cement, when an explosion allegedly claimed the live of a father of two and labourer at the factory, one Mr. Solomon Ashir.

We gathered from an eyewitness, that the deceased was hit by  limestone from the quarry site of the plant which led to his instant death before medical attention could get to him.

According to the eyewitness, the incident  sparked angry reaction from his colleagues and youths of the host community who barricaded the factory and Makurdi-Gboko road with bonfire in protest against alleged poor safety measures in the plant.

"The deceased who was an indigene of the host community and staff of the parking plant of the company was hit by  limestone at the quarry after an explosion that occurred when workers at the site were prospecting for raw materials."His death sparked angry reaction from fellow workers and youths of the community who in protest took the corpse of the young man to the palace of the traditional ruler of the community, Tyoor Ukpekpe, Chief Ishi Yonguigba.

"At the palace, the paramount ruler pleaded with the protesters to remain calm and also have restraint in their action."Not satisfied, the mob made bonfires on the highway and matched with the corpse into the factory where they insisted on seeing the Assistant General Manager, AGM, in charge of mines, who had fled the scene for fear of being molested."They, however, forced their way into the AGM's office where they dumped the remains of the deceased."

We, however, gathered that Ashir's  remains was taken away and deposited at the Gboko General Hospital by the management of the factory.

Efforts to get a reaction from the company's manager in charge of community relations, Mr. Bem Meladu, proved abortive as his cellphone was switched off.

Meantime, the Benue State Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Deputy Superintendent, DSP, Daniel Ezeala who confirmed the incident said the command had commenced investigations into the matter. -Vanguard

APC May Not Last Long – Presidency

(NAN) – The Senior Special Assistant to President Goodluck Jonathan on Public Affairs, Doyin Okupe, has said the newly registered All Progressives Congress, APC, may not last for long because "its foundation is wrong, its combination is faulty and its ideologies are not clearly defined.''

He said the registration of APC by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, underscored the openness of the present administration.

Mr. Okupe made this remark when he spoke with newsmen in Abuja on Thursday.

He stressed that the registration of the APC by INEC also demonstrated "political liberalism of President Jonathan.

"This would not have happened under many Africa Presidents, especially when it is obvious that there were obvious hurdles and obstacles to that registration'', Mr. Okupe said.

Such obstacles, he said, could have been exploited and amplified and used by people of lesser integrity to frustrate the registration of the party. He held that the PDP-led Federal Government was not afraid of the APC registration.

"These are people that were beaten individually and collectively before, we will defeat them randomly.

"But we are glad that at least, instead of fighting three or four parties, we can concentrate on one and get it done.

"I can assure you that there is nobody in the Presidency that is worried. For us, it is a good thing, it is a great development. We will see how far they can go.''

On speculations that some governors were planning to leave the PDP for opposition parties, he said they cannot afford to leave the party.

"Yes our party may have its problems, faults and inadequacies, but there is no alternative than to be inside. There are more than enough reasons for people to leave, but you know you don't leave a winning platform politically; it amounts to committing political suicide.

"These are empty boasts and things that do not hold water. None of these governors as you can see for yourself is prepared to move.

"What they are trying to do is to move around and ensure that they are heard and have some of their demands met. Nobody is going anywhere because PDP is still the real party to beat'', Mr. Okupe said.

Asked if President Jonathan will re-contest the presidency in 2015, Mr. Okupe said the president "has not decided and has not told anybody."

"If the President decides to run for the presidency in 2015, nobody can beat him.''

"The calculations are in his favour, the odds are in his favour, the national supports are in his favour, the performance index is in his favour," he added.

He stressed that the only worry of the presidency for now, was how to ensure it delivered democracy dividends to the people and not 2015 presidential election.

"This is not the time to campaign. Those who are doing so are doing so because they have nothing to do, they are professional political jobbers.

They are not serious minded people, and they have nothing serious to do'', Mr. Okupe contended.

He said the PDP leadership was working round the clock to have the court injunction restraining the party from holding its forthcoming Special National Convention slated for Aug. 31, vacated.

"I was told that those who went to court had said that they were no longer interested in the case, and so are withdrawing their case.

"So, the court injunction is not an issue anymore. The convention is on course'', he added.

ASUU, FG Fail To Reach Agreement On Contentious Issues

The hope for the re-opening of universities in the shortest possible time was dashed Thursday after the Federal Government constituted committee chaired by the Benue State Governor, Hon. Gabriel Suswan in a meeting with the leadership of the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, failed to agree on the contentious issues.

There were expectations that ASUU could call off the strike after the meeting as the National President of the union Dr. Nasir Fagge had previously said that calling off the strike was dependent upon what the Federal government would place on the table in respect of the implementation of the 2009 agreement.

While speaking to newsmen on the outcome of the meeting, Dr. Fagge said, "Well it was inaugural meeting, so naturally nothing much was achieved. It is just that the chairman (Governor Gabriel Suswan) told us how he wants to carry out the assignment.

"And then he said that he thinks we should have a sub-committee that will liaise with TETFund and National Planning Commission to get more information on the technical report that was submitted by the Needs Assessment Committee and on the basis of that, projects will be identified and will now look for the funding."

On the promise he made that after the meeting the union would take a stand depending on what the government would place on the table, he said, "There is no change any way because the meeting today is just considering one aspect of the agreement, which is funding.

"So what we did today was to have an inaugural meeting on funding and our members nation wide said nothing short of implementation of all aspects of the agreement will make them call off the strike, so like I said whatever meeting we are invited, we will go and give our members information.

" like I said today's meeting was an inaugural meeting nothing much was achieved there order than how to go and implementing the Needs Assessment Report which is an aspect of funding aspect of the agreement, so we will wait and see whatever government decides to do with the agreement, we are there."

21yr Old Woman Beats 3yr Old Girl To Death For Vomitting

(Punch) – A 21-year-old woman, Rebecca Bassey, has been arrested by the Lagos State Police Command for allegedly beating her husband's three-year-old niece, Deborah Bassey, to death.
According to police authorities, the suspect beat up the girl because she vomited and defecated on herself.

A Police source told us on Thursday that the incident occurred at Ijaiye Ojokoro area of the state on July 22, 2013.

He said, "The victim (Deborah) lost her mother in 2010. Early this year, Deborah's father was evicted from his home and he decided to send Deborah and his second child to go and stay with his brother, Vincent, until he settles down.

"Deborah and her nine-year-old sister were living with Vincent and his wife, Rebecca, in a one-room apartment at Powerline, Jankara, Ijaiye Ojokoro. However, Rebecca was always maltreating the two children."

According to police investigations, on the day of the incident, Deborah woke up around 5.30am with a high temperature.

The three-year-old girl was said to have started vomiting and defecating soon after. This was said to have angered Rebecca, who instead of administering treatment to the child, decided to beat her up.

A police source said, "In the process of beating the girl, the suspect pushed her and she fell, hitting her head against the edge of a wooden chair in the room."

We learnt that the victim started to bleed from the head. Some neighbours rushed her to Ahmadiyya Hospital, where she was referred to Orile Agege General Hospital where she later died.

A woman leader in the area, Kudirat Ogunseyi, was said to have reported the matter to Ijaye Ojokoro Police Division after which the suspect was arrested.

Some neighbours, in their statements at the police station, described the suspect as a hot-tempered woman, who was fond of beating the children.

"The way that woman beats up the children was very worrying to the extent that the landlord had threatened to evict them," one of the statements reads.

Vincent told the police that he was not present when his wife beat his niece to death.

"I was not at home when the incident happened. I am a photographer during daytime but I work as a vigilante group member. So I hardly sleep at home," he said.

The suspect however said she did not kill the victim deliberately. She said she only pushed Deborah and she hit her head against the chair.

"I am a housewife and I have a 10-month-old baby. I did not mean to kill her (Deborah). I only pushed her because she vomited and defecated on the floor. I was only trying to correct her. It was not deliberate. I am a mother too and I know how I would feel if my son was killed," she said.

It was learnt that the matter had been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department, Yaba.

A source at the SCID said the police were waiting for autopsy. He added that if other wounds were found on other parts of the victim's body, it would prove that the victim was indeed tortured before her death.

When contacted on the telephone, the Police Public Relations Officer, Ngozi Braide, said she would call back.

'Goriola is a closed chapter, I have found another love' -Nollywood Actress Ayo Adesanya Reveals

Ayo Adesanya is not a new face in Nollywood. She has acted alongside veterans like Regina Askia, Liz Benzon, Ucharia Anunobi and many others. The University of Ibadan graduate of Communications and Language Arts, like many of her peers, ventured into movie production. She spoke with AJIBADE ALABI recently on several issues in the industry.

Why acting and not practicing what you studied in school?

I have always liked acting; it is just inborn. Right from my childhood days, I knew I would end up being an actress.

How did you join the industry?

I went for an interview somewhere, where I met Ifeanyi. It was he who invited me for an auditioning, and in that auditioning I was given a waka pass role. That was my first role, and that was how the journey began.
But I had always wanted to be an actress. I had started right from when I was in nursery school. I acted also when in secondary school. I also acted in church. So, it has been part of me right from the beginning.

Who are your contemporaries in the industry?

I have Bimbo Akintola, Sandra Achums, Eucharia Anunobi and some others I can't remember now.

What about Regina Askia?

Ha! Regina started before me. The reason people always think we stated together is because we acted many films together, like in Most Wanted, where I played a lead role with her, and that film shot me into limelight. So many people thought we were contemporaries. No, we were not; she started before me. I must give God the glory for that film (Most Wanted). Though I had acted in many films before that, that particular film brought out the talent in me. And it was a film where I acted with the who is who in the industry then.

People seem to see you as being arrogant. How do you take that?

I don't know where you got your fact from, but all I can tell you is that I am not arrogant. I am a normal person. I am a cool person. The fact that one plays one role in a movie does not make that person to be wicked, arrogant or controversial. There are roles that you will play that people will like you, and there are also roles that you will play that people will feel like stoning you to death. People should know the difference between when one is on set and when one is living one's normal life. These are two different things. The fact that I acted as prostitute in a movie does not make me a prostitute.

After Goriola Hassan, your ex-hubby, what next?

What next as in what? I am leaving my life as normal. Goriola is a closed chapter in my life; it is one of those things in life. Life continues. Will I continue to ruminate over that? A beg, life continues

Have you found another love?

Yes. I have found another love. I am into a new relationship.

But has love been fair to you?

Yes. Love has been fair to me, and I thank God for that.

Do you still remember 2005 when you were voted as one of the sexiest actresses of the 90s?

I still remember.

Then, you said your eyes were your sexiest part. Are you still holding to that view?

I still believe that my eyes are the sexiest part of me, and people always talk about my eyes as being the sexiest. And I do not doubt that; my eyes are sexy and captivating!

You are one of the very few Yoruba actresses who dumped the English sector to join the Yoruba. Tell us why

I just feel I should go back to my roots. Even while I was doing English movies, I was still appearing in Yoruba movies. For instance, I acted in Iru Oka alongside Ramsey Nouah while I was still in the English caucus. So, it was not as if I did not act in Yoruba before or I just dumped English for Yoruba. I just feel I want to come fully to the Yoruba sector.

As someone who has done both Yoruba and English films, what can you say is the difference between the two?

There is no much difference; the only difference is that Yoruba is rich in story line and they (producers) have very deep story lines that teach morals. I am not castigating any tribe here, mind you; I'm just telling you what I feel. If you take note that a lot of improvement has occurred in Yoruba film industry. The cameras, the location and the costumes and even the effects that are now being used cannot be compared to what we had in the past. So, I can tell you that good things are now happening in the Yoruba section of Nollywood.

Did you have a taste of sexual harassment as an up-and-coming actress?

I did not believe anyone is harassing anybody. If you are talented and you know what you are doing, nobody will ever harass or molest you. Fine, as a fine lady, you are bound to be toasted, it now depends on you to succumb to whoever you want to date. It is not a matter of life and death. I don't believe anybody can be harassed sexually, except they are not good. If you know what you want, nobody can harass you.

You have acted in many films. Which one can you say was most challenging?

All my roles have been challenging. Take for instance, my role in Osuka, where I played two roles. In that movie, I played the role of a young girl and an old woman – which was very challenging. But you need to watch this my latest film, entitled Amope Alasela. In this one, I played a dual role. I must tell you it was very daunting and tasking, because I had to change many times to play the roles of different people. The director had to wait for me to change. And there was a scene where both characters met. It was very demanding. Apart from that, I also acted some funny part in the film.

Talking about being funny, it seems you have added that to your acting now?

That is what I was telling you. That is to tell you that as an actress, I'm versatile. There is no role I cannot play.

Yvonne Nelson Is No Longer A Virgin

Barely three weeks after it was reported what actress Yvonne Nelson said, that she had been a virgin for seven months, we can report now that Yvonne has broken her virginity again, thanks to a tweet last weekend.

The talented actress tweeted "Okk so I guess I'm not single anymore …….hahahaha mum was even complaining…..lol….SOoooo in love". Yvonne did not state who the new found love was though.

The star actress, in an interview she recently granted Nigeria's talk show host, Toolz on Ndani TV is quoted to have said "It's been seven months… and am like a secondary virgin. I haven't seen anyone, done nothing…not even kissed.. Oh yeah I kissed John Dumelo in a movie".

This was after Yvonne Nelson went all out about how bad her stint with her Nigerian singer and ex-boyfriend, Inyanya had been.

When our reporter called Yvonne last Tuesday to confirm her new "status", the Princess Tyra star was rather hesitant to give details on her new relationship.

"Yes, I tweeted that. I have found somebody and I guess that is the important aspect of it now. The rest can be reserved for the future since I don't want to talk much about it. What is important now is that, I have moved on and put everything behind me" she said.

Even before Yvonne came out to publicly declare her relationship status, the versatile actress had been linked to two other Nigerian artistes—Ice Prince and Dammy Krane.

The Nigerian Afro Pop singer, Dammy Krane even mentions her in his new track Really Love You which is reported to be getting a lot of attention in Nigeria.

A line in the song "…sho mo Yvonne Nelson, I don't just want your waist…" raised a lot of questions but Yvonne Nelson denied any romantic relationship between them.

I didn't get money from Davido - Kenyan Socialite revealed

“Davido’s Manhood is big…both length and width” – Kenyan Socialite confesses

Omo baba olowo has done it again. According to reports, aside his superb performance on stage at the Boombaataa Festival in Kenya last weekend; Davido also had a great romp with a Kenyan socialite Staciey Brianar aka Pendo.
In a telephone chat with Ghafla.co.ke, Pendo said the Gobe crooner is the best you never had, that he is much better than your average Kenyan.
Check out the interview below;
Nali: So what is all this wahala about Davido blocking you off of his facebook?
Pendo: If people had done even a little research, they would know Davido does not even have a Facebook account. I NEVER said I was in touch with him through Facebook. I got in touch with him through a good friend of his and that's where everything started. He did the intro.
Nali: So why did you do this? Do you do this for money?
Pendo: (Laughs) No, I didn't get money from him. I didn't WANT money from him. I did it simply cuz I find him hot and he is pretty legit in the music industry in Africa. Yeah, I am attracted by his talent, his fame, his power, but honestly, who isn't? And people are talking so much because a lot of women wanted to be in my shoes, but were not. I'm not afraid to go after what I want.
That's just me. And I am unapologetic for it. I am content that I got what I wanted -which was to know him- and I guess it just naturally progressed from there...

Nali: So was this a one time thing then?
Pendo: No, I would do it again. Gladly, I don't regret it at all.

Nali: Of course you know now I am gonna ask about the "D". Free reign, choose your own words to describe it.
Pendo: He was perfect.
Nali: Nooooooooo, more than that. DESCRIPTION.
Pendo: (Laughing) Ok, ok. Errrrrrrrrrrm, he is much better than your "average Kenyan". He is big. Both length and width. (Giggles) And best part is he REALLY knows what he is working with.
Nali: Haha, so you loved ALL OF HIM. (SN: Hehe, see what I did there?)
Pendo: (Giggles) Ha, you won't let this go will you. Haha, no seriously though, he has CRAZY moves, he kept it fresh for a couple hours. I am impressed. Definitely the best...(hesitates) Ok maybe not the best I ever had, but he is up there.
Nali: So was this a one night stand or will you be seeing him again?

Pendo: Davido is not only a good lover but a gentleman. Not only did he not publicise the affair, but he left me with some personal mementos to remember him. I don't think a one night stand does that. Plus there is still communication going on. I'm not saying we are dating, but we are definitely still talking. He did not "hit it and quit it".

Mother Catches Teacher Under Her Daughter's Bed

A SCHOOLGIRL’S suspicious mum surprised her by coming home early — and was horrified to look under the teen’s bed and find her MATHS TEACHER.

He and the 16-year-old had sneaked back to the house on the last day of the term when the mother suddenly turned up.

She began searching the house for a boy — and was aghast when she discovered the 35-year-old skulking under the mattress. She called cops who yesterday confirmed: “A man was arrested on suspicion of abusing a position of trust.”

A source said: “The pair had gone back to the girl’s house because they thought no one would be there.

“But the mum came home earlier than expected and caught them.

“She went into her daughter’s room and found the teacher hiding under the bed. It was a terrible shock. I think she had only come home to grab some lunch. The mum went berserk.”

The teacher — arrested and quizzed for several hours — was last night on police bail over the antics in Bolton, Gtr Manchester. He cannot be identified for legal reasons. The school head — whose staff were last year rated “outstanding” by Ofsted — refused to say if the teacher had been suspended.

Boxing champ Floyd Mayweather to sell ex-fiancee's stuff on ebay

LMAO. This guy is gangsta! A few weeks after breaking things off with his ex-fiancee, Chantel Jackson, undefeated boxing champion Floyd Maywhether is threatening to sell her very expensive designers bags and shoes on ebay. (Stuff he paid for). Choi, see all dem Birkin croc bags.

Floyd yesterday posted photos of Chantel's stuff on his instagram page, talking about a new venture of selling women's designer shoes and bags. He even tagged Chantel in one of the pictures. Lol.

They are the same shoes and bags Shantel showed off on her own instagram page when she and Floyd's baby mama, Josie Harris, got into it in May. (See the story HERE)

Wonder why Chantel didn't leave with her things when she moved out. See more instagram pics

No Sales: Low patronage hits newly opened Ibadan shoprite

The first day it opened it was like a tourist site, but the Ibadan people have since found their way back to their local markets...lol. Barely a month after the grand opening of Shoprite at Heritage Cocoa Mall, on Oba Adebimpe Road, Dugbe, Ibadan, Oyo State, the retail store has been hit with low patronage. The number of Ibadan people who go there to buy things have reduced drastically. Some residents blame it on the prices of goods at shoprite. While some say it's cheaper to buy some goods from their local markets than from shoprite, others say though it's cheaper to buy from shoprite than the stores in their neighborhood, the difference isn't much and the transport fare to go to shoprite and back isn't worth it, so they stick to shops in their area.

The most patronized commodity at shoprite Ibadan is the freshly baked bread, everything else na manage...:-) Though people go there a lot on the weekends...just to look around. Confirm Ibadan People *Winks* Just Saying.
