Two Nigerian students in Canada spend one year in Churches while their colleagues graduates

Two Nigerian students in Canada spend one year in Churches while their colleagues graduates

Victoria Ordu has one wish for her 22nd birthday on June 28 - to be granted permission to continue her studies at the University of Regina.
She and fellow Nigerian student Ihuoma Amadi have been in sanctuary for one year today; compelled into hiding after they were ordered to leave Canada for unknowingly breaking their study permits by working for two weeks off-campus.
The Leader-Post told their story last September, but after spending 12 months in the sanctuary of a Regina church, they look years wearier than they did then.
Kay Adebogun, a Regina immigration consultant who took on their case pro bono, speaks about keeping the faith and remaining strong.
As he does so, Amadi scrunches her hands into fists and puts them over her eyes, her head hanging down.
Unlike September, neither of the girls cries; it seems almost as though they've shed the tears they have.
"It's emotionally draining," admits Ordu.
"We can only hope for the best and pray (immigration minister) Jason Kenney makes a decision that will help us."
She looks at her feet, playing with her flip-flops.

When Ihuoma and Amadi first sought sanctuary, they were hopeful things would be resolved in short order.
"I didn't even think we'd spend Christmas in here, to tell you the truth," Ihuoma says.
"I didn't see that coming at all."
But now the other students they came to Canada with are graduating and heading home to Nigeria, which Ordu says is "heartbreaking."
Nigerian government officials have been in touch but, while they support the pair and assure them their academic scholarships will still stand if and when the situation is resolved, the girls say there's little they can do.
There are phone calls home to family whenever possible, though Ordu says it's hard talking to her parents and trying to encourage them.
"They're really, really devastated," she says.
"We have to call them to make sure they don't worry. It's hard to talk to them, but ... they support and encourage us and we do the same for them."
Ihuoma and Amadi also keep up to date with their supporters via a blog, which they say has made the world of difference.
Those supporters, says Sean Tucker, assistant professor with the U of R faculty of business administration, come from everywhere.
"Wherever I raise this case - here in the university, out in the business community - everyone has the same view," he says.
"Enough is enough; let's let these girls get on with their education. We all made mistakes when we were young, but to ... be denied a degree really will have severe implications for the rest of their lives."
Even the provincial government and opposition are united in their support for the girls and, on June 7, U of R president Vianne Timmons wrote a letter to Kenney, hoping he would grant them a temporary resident permit to allow them to continue their studies.
"The punishment far exceeds the nature of the offence, meaning that these young women have lost an entire year of their academic careers - and more importantly, of their lives," she wrote.
For his part, Adebogun is hoping for a resolution "very soon."
"I don't call this an anniversary, because what do they have to celebrate? It's one year of detention more than anything," he says.
"I know there are a lot of things going on in Ottawa right now, but we don't want this to be buried."

Okey Ndibe: If Mandela were a Nigerian…

Nelson-Mandela-e1317048103116
If Mr. Mandela were a Nigerian, he would never have spent more than one week in prison… he would be identified as Triple High Chief (Sir) Barrister Nelson Mandela, GCFR, Tigbuo Zogbuo 1 of Igboland, Aare Baba Dudu 1 of Yorubaland, Alhaji Magajin Biu 1 of Hausaland…
If Nelson Mandela were a Nigerian, he would never be treated in a hospital within his country. God forbid! At the slightest sign of ill health, he would be airlifted to a hospital in Germany, the UK, the US, France, or Saudi Arabia. Any Nigerian doctor who comes close to him – much less touches him – would immediately be arrested and charged with treason. An SSS interrogator would ask the hapless doctor, “You dey craze? So you wan kill de man?”
If Mr. Mandela were a Nigerian, not only would he be in a foreign hospital, he would commandeer an entire wing of the said hospital. No government official would ever give Nigerians updates on his progress or prognosis. Hell, no! In fact, the only statement the government would ever issue is to deny that the man is hospitalized.
Some spokesman would insist that the old man went abroad on vacation, to get some well deserved rest. You see, Nigerian officials – from the president down to the municipal chairman – are fond of boasting that they’ve “totally transformed” Nigeria, this or that state, or this local government area or another. Yet the last thing these human transformers would ever do is take a vacation in the country they’ve ostensibly transformed!
If Mr. Mandela were a Nigerian, a league of pastors and imams would take to the press each day to tell us what “God” allegedly told them about the man’s condition. One pastor – or imam – would say God told him to warn Nigerians to pray interminably and fast furiously to ensure the ailing elder’s survival. Another would declaim that God confided in him that Mr. Mandela did not hearken to some divine instruction – and so was put on Saint Peter’s list of guests to expect at the pearly gates. Yet another imam – or pastor – would declare that a clique of witches and wizards had descended on the sick man, determined to doom him. If he’s to survive, he must personally contact the clairvoyant imam or pastor to receive special instructions on how to win the spiritual warfare.
Mr. Mandela is a man of comfortable means. He made a modest fortune from advances and royalties on books as well as earnings from his work as a widely sought, handsomely rewarded speaker on lecture circuits. He also received a Nobel Peace Prize that came with a handsome sum. In a word, he’s worked – and worked hard – for his money.
Now, if Mr. Mandela were a Nigerian, he would be considered a capital fool for working at all to earn money. To work hard would make him nothing less than a mumu, a Nigerian parlance that suggests somebody is a step or two worse than a fool. No, he would simply announce himself, Obasanjo- or Anenih-like, as a major “stakeholder.” And then, pronto, some currency tap would start gushing cash onto the deep pockets of his agbada. (Which reminds me: if Mr. Mandela were a Nigerian, he would not be permitted to sport those silly shirts he’s seen in. With those shirts, who’s going to be able to tell oga apart from his houseboys? He must exchange them for an endless line of lavishly embroidered agbada, accentuating his image as a human god).
If Mr. Mandela were a Nigerian, he would have enough cash stashed away in foreign vaults to make the Forbes list of the world’s billionaires. Heck, Nigerian civil servants who manage pension funds are billionaires! Yet – like most Nigerian billionaires – he would not be in a haste to alert the editors of Forbes to the size of his assets. Heh, it’s not worth the trouble; who wants to be playing hide-and-seek with armed robbers and kidnappers? He may not confide in Forbes, but a Nigerian Mandela would be the proud owner of numerous oil blocks. He would be entitled to a “security vote” that nets him, at least, a billion naira per month. He would own mansions in several European capitals and resort locations. He would own private jets, his own private army (otherwise known as thugs), a university or two, a private cathedral or mosque, controlling shares in several banks, and enough high-priced cars to run an automobile dealership.
Mr. Mandela is an enlightened man, a towering moral figure who commands respect around the world, a lawyer, author and reader. Yes, he has the stamina to put in the months and years it takes to write a book. And he is capable of staying still for hours or days to read book. If he were a Nigerian big man, he’d love to have a book or two to his name – but the content would be cliché-riddled speeches written by bored, ill-educated and often cynical amanuenses. As for reading a book, perish the thought! A friend of mine once told a joke about one of Nigeria’s illiterate moneymen. According to him, this mind-ravaged rich man laughed at people who, behind his back, whispered that he was unlettered. “I can read,” said the traduced businessman. “I only care to read the amount on my checks!” That’s what a Nigerian Mandela would learn to do.
If the legendary Mandela were a Nigerian, he would not be addressed simply as Mister. On Mandela’s first visit to Nigeria, he was awarded an honorary doctorate degree by – if my memory serves me – the University of Maiduguri. Since then, Nigerian newspapers and magazines as well as broadcast media have taken to addressing the global icon as “Dr.” Mandela. In the Nigerian media’s imagination, by bestowing the prefix “doctor” on Mandela, they have somehow enhanced the man’s standing in the world. What would the man be without this generous beneficence from Nigeria by way of Maiduguri?
It’s conventional wisdom in Nigeria that titles, however hollow, matter. In many quarters, the quality of a person’s mind is of no consequence. What matters is self-advertisement, buttressed shamelessly in the adornment of antiquated, silly honorifics. So we went from addressing people as Chief (which has no meaning, really) to calling them High Chief, Double Chief, or Double High Chief – terms that inspire embarrassment on behalf of those who flaunt them. If Mandela were Nigerian, he would be identified as Triple High Chief (Sir) Barrister Nelson Mandela, GCFR, Tigbuo Zogbuo 1 of Igboland, Aare Baba Dudu 1 of Yorubaland, Alhaji Magajin Biu 1 of Hausaland, etc, etc. He would be overfed, weaned off his sprite, sportsman’s physique. With his kind of figure – a flat belly and all – you can’t even aspire to become a local government councilor in Nigeria! Day and night, his staff and harem would ply him with pomo stew, cow leg pepper soup, pounded yam and egusi washed down with six bottles of lager per session – until he’s appropriately fattened.
If Mr. Mandela were a Nigerian, his claim to being a hero would be put to the ethnic test. Only members of his ethnic group would consider him an exemplary man. To others, he would be an object of ambivalent response: a hero today, a villain tomorrow, depending on what he’s said on what issue.
If Mr. Mandela were a Nigerian, he would never have spent more than one week in prison. Why, the traditional rulers from his district would have gone as a delegation to his jailers, apologized on his behalf for his unruly opposition to the apartheid machinery and pledged that they would ensure that he show appropriate respect to constituted authority. He would then be released – cameras clicking to capture the moment – to the “royal fathers,” guarantors of his docility, quiescence and submission to the powers-that-be.
If Mr. Mandela were a Nigerian, he would not be an ex-president, but a president-for-life. His kinsmen would have hired a dibia, babalawo or malam to cure his “madness” when he decided to step aside after only one term as president. A Nigerian Mandela would not be subject to any constitutional limits on presidential terms; the constitution would be subject to him. Any part of the constitution that runs counter to his whims and caprices would be instantly amended or – better still – ignored.
To make a short story long, if Mandela were a Nigerian, then the man and his stupendous moral capital would not exist!

NGF Election: PDP In Dilemma Over Governors Who ‘Betrayed’ Jang

amaechi jang

The leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party is in a dilemma on what to do to governors who refused to vote for Governor Jonah Jang during the Nigeria Governors’ Forum election.

Investigations by our correspondent in Abuja on Wednesday showed that since the outcome of the election, which showed that the Governor of Rivers State, Mr. Rotimi Amaechi, was re-elected as the chairman of the Forum, both the PDP and the Presidency had yet to get the names of those who voted against Jang.

Jang, the preferred candidate of the PDP and President Goodluck Jonathan for the office, was defeated by Amaechi.

While Jang scored 16 votes, Amaechi garnered 19 votes.

But on Tuesday, the Governor of Jigawa State, Alhaji Sule Lamido, opened up on the list of the governors he said refused to follow the path laid by the PDP, as they voted for Amaechi.

Lamido said nine PDP governors voted for Amaechi at the June 4 election that later divided the forum.

Apart from himself, those he listed as voting for Amaechi were “the governor of Kano, the governor of Niger, the governor of Kebbi, the governor of Sokoto, the governor of Kwara, and the governor of Adamawa.”

He defended his position and those of others by saying that the NGF election was not meant to be a PDP affair.

Lamido said it was wrong “for one group (PDP) to come and say ‘this is your leader, let’s present him to the nation’.”

Lamido’s revelation was said to have rattled the Presidency and the leadership of the PDP.
However, investigations by our correspondent showed that both organs did not know what to do with the affected governors.

A Presidency source said both the Presidency and the party had been investigating those behind the disobedience, which he said was very embarrassing.

He said it was unfortunate that Lamido could also have the “temerity” to own up to his and co-travellers’ alleged anti-party activities.

But when contacted, the outgoing National Publicity Secretary of the party, Chief Olisa Metuh, refused to speak on whether the party would take a disciplinary action against the affected governors.

Metuh said, “I would not want to make any comment on the NGF. Whatever happened there is the business of the governors and not that of the PDP.”

"I don't do cheap money" - Wizkid tweets

UNILAG students are accusing him of collecting N500k from them for a show and not showing up. As we are aware, Wizkid collects about N2m per show, so this N500k he supposedly collected is strange.

Both parties can't really talk about the case for now because it's a police matter, but hopefully after they settle, we will find out what really happened

FIFA asks Nigeria’s Super Eagles to stop victory party

A dinner party planned for the victorious Super Eagles on Monday night after the 6-1 defeat of Tahiti in their FIFA Confederation Cup match was cancelled at the instance of FIFA.

A PANA report late Tuesday said that the team was billed to have the dinner at Restaurant Atelier in Savassi centre in Belo Horizonte but FIFA officials, citing security reasons, prevented the Nigerian players from leaving their hotel at Belvedere. The FIFA security officials based their decision on the street protests in Belo Horizonte and some other parts of Brazil.

One of the organisers of the dinner, Olusegun Akinruli, lamented the turn of events.

He said, “It is sad, but we have to understand the concerns of FIFA. We would have loved to celebrate the victory with guests of Nigerian roots.”

Eagles are up against Uruguay Thursday night in their second Group match and Nigeria coach Stephen Keshi says they are ready to take on any team now.

“We’re on a good swing and the mood is great,” Keshi said in Salvador on Wednesday. “There’s nothing to be apprehensive about. We have no injury worries and the boys will simply go in there and give their best for country and continent.”

Victory over Uruguay will lift Nigeria to six points and a place in the semi finals, ahead of the game against Spain in Fortaleza on Sunday.

As Nigerians say they are set the Uruguayans and also targeting a semi-final berth. One of their star players Diego Forlan is poised to win his 100th cap as Uruguay, with their backs to the wall after losing their opener to Spain, face Nigeria.

“We absolutely must win to have the chance of going further in the Cup,” Forlan toldReuters on Wednesday.

“They won the match they had to win, scored lots of goals and even a draw will be better for them than us,” said the 34-year-old striker, best player at the 2010 World Cup.

“Nigeria have good players, many play in Europe, they are physically strong, it won’t be at all easy, it will be a hard match,” added Forlan, who will also be looking to add to his Uruguay tally of 33 goals.
Copa America holders Uruguay lost 2-1 to world champions Spain in their opener on Sunday with Forlan coming on as a 69th-minute substitute.

A draw could leave Uruguay needing a big-scoring win in their last match against Tahiti and a Spanish win over Nigeria on Sunday to stand any chance of a place in the semi-finals.

Dolce and Gabbana sentenced to jail for tax evasion

Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana, the legendary designer duo whose billion-dollar fashion empire has been embroiled in a $1.3-billion tax evasion case, were sentenced to almost two years in prison today, Reuters reports — but they probably won't serve any jail time in what would no doubt be one of the stranger times behind bars in celebrity history.

The case stems from the designers' actions in 2004, when they sold their brand to a holding company in Luxembourg, Gado. That was so they could allegedly sneak out of taxes on 1 billion euros worth of royalties. The trial, Lisa Jucca of Reuters reported yesterday, is a result of how "cash-strapped Italy has recently stepped up action on tax evasion." But D&G are denying the charges. (After the duo lost an appeal and were fined earlier this year, Gabbana launched one of his frequent Twitter rants to dispute accusations. But due to the "complexity and length of the appeals process," Reuters reports, they will likely not serve any of their one-year-and-eight-month sentence, although that really would be something.

Hollywood Actor Johnny Depp Is Almost Blind

image

Johnny Depp has revealed he is almost completely blind in one eye and near-sighted in the other. The ‘Lone Ranger’ star, who is rarely photographed without a pair of tinted glasses, claims he has been “basically blind as a bat” in his left eye since birth and the problem is impossible to correct.

The 50-year-old actor told the July issue of Rolling Stone magazine that all of his glasses are prescription and he relies heavily on them.He explained: “Everything is just very, very blurry. I’ve never had proper vision.”

The ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ star, who has two children, Lily-Rose, 14, and Jack, 11, with his ex-girlfriend Vanessa Paradis, said he can only see a few inches from his face if he is playing a character that does not wear glasses or sunglasses.Meanwhile, the actor, who is now dating actress Amber Heard, also revealed that he thinks about retiring from Hollywood “every day”, but is unlikely to do so in the near future.

He said: “I think while I’ve got the opportunity and the desire and the creative spark to do the things that I can do right now, I should do them. And then, at a certain point, just take it down to the bare minimum and concentrate on, I guess, living life. Really living life. And going somewhere where you don’t have to be on the run, or sneak in through the kitchen or the underground labyrinth of the hotel. At a certain point, when you get old enough or get a few brain cells back, you realise that, on some level, you lived a life of a fugitive.”

But he added: “I don’t know if I can relax. Relax, I can’t do. My brain, on idle, is a bad thing. I just get weird. I mean, not weird. I get, I get antsy.”

Real Madrid to Make Ronaldo Highest-earning Footballer

image

Cristiano Ronaldo is close to agreeing a new contract with Real Madrid which will make him the world’s highest-earning footballer.Madrid officials are in advanced talks with Ronaldo’s representatives over a deal totalling around €155 million over five years, with the Portuguese forward set to earn €15m annually after tax in what will be the most lucrative contract in the history of the game.

Ronaldo, who has scored 201 goals in just 199 games in his four seasons at the Santiago Bernabeu, raised alarm bells on Thursday when he posted a cryptic message on Twitter which read simply: “All the news about my renewal with Real Madrid are false.” Days earlier, however, he revealed his intention to remain at the Spanish side beyond his current contract, which expires in 2015.After Portugal’s 1-0 win over Russia in a World Cup qualifier last week, Ronaldo said: “I haven’t spoken to anyone yet, (but) I know we will reach an agreement on a new contract. The most important thing now is the national team.”And he also claimed his future has nothing to do with the departure of coach Jose Mourinho.”I am not worried by what Mourinho does; I am concerned with Real Madrid and my future,” he said in May.

The pair’s relationship, once excellent, deteriorated in recent months following an angry dispute over a tactical correction made by Mourinho in a game against Valencia in January.Though it never reached the stage of tabling an official offer, Manchester United’s dream of persuading Ronaldo to return to Old Trafford was and remains a genuine one.

A public and private charm offensive kicked off in earnest around the time the Premier League champions drew the Spanish giants in the Champions League last December and reached a crescendo when the prolific Portuguese arrived back on his former stomping ground in March and duly scored the decisive goal in the tie.The reception he was afforded that night struck a chord with the player who had felt unloved and unappreciated in the Spanish capital.

That he spent time after the match catching up with his former team-mates and speaking so positively of his former employers, to the extent that he appeared to be leaving the door open for a return, gave United’s hierarchy belief they were capable of pulling off an astonishing coup.In truth, however, the stratospheric sums involved were always likely to prove the most significant barrier, alongside Madrid’s reluctance to sell, to a deal being stuck.

Ronaldo’s posture has changed after his well-documented ‘sadness’ at the beginning of last season, when he was frustrated at what he perceived to be a lack of public support from the club in the race for the Ballon d’Or, a fall-out with team-mate Marcelo and the club’s apparent unwillingness to discuss a new deal.

Madrid signed Ronaldo from Manchester United in a world-record €94 million deal back in the summer of 2009, following Florentino Perez’s return to the presidency at the capital club. He currently earns around €10m annually after tax. When Ronaldo arrived, however, the so-called ‘Beckham Law’, which allowed foreigners who had lived in Spain for less than 10 years and who earned above €120,000 per annum to pay a lower tax rate of around 23 per cent and not the usual 45 per cent, was still in force.

David Beckham was one of the first to take advantage of the law after his move from Manchester United in 2003.However, the Spanish government has since scrapped that initiative and a new deal would see Ronaldo required to pay 52 per cent of his salary to the taxman. Hence, Madrid will be faced with an annual outlay close to €31m in order to pay the Portuguese the net €15m he has asked for.Madrid, however, are aware of the importance of keeping Cristiano.

The capital club missed out on Neymar recently, while they look to be frustrated in their pursuit of Dortmund duo Ilkay Gundogan and Robert Lewandowski.Other previous transfer targets, such as Sergio Aguero and Radamel Falcao, will not be arriving either, while Gareth Bale is expensive and unwilling to force a move and Edinson Cavani is considered  by the Madrid board.

Ronaldo’s renewal, therefore, assumes even greater importance.President Perez has already revealed Real’s intention to make the Portuguese the cornerstone of the club’s next sporting project. “I want to build Real Madrid around Cristiano Ronaldo,” he said late last month. “And I want Cristiano to be the best-paid player in the world.”Madrid are ready to meet Ronaldo’s wage demands and make the Portuguese a higher earner than Lionel Messi, who takes home around €13m before bonuses at Barcelona, and Falcao, who will bring in €14m annually at Monaco. Samuel Eto’o earns €20m per year at Anzhi Makhachkala, although the Cameroonian is on just a three-year deal and his total package will be surpassed by Ronaldo’s Real contract.

The one sticking point currently is the player’s image rights. Cristiano currently has a 60 per cent share (of which he pays a third to Jorge Mendes’ company Gestifute), while the club keep 40 per cent. The Portuguese is keen to improve that ratio and his recent tweet, as well as news stories leaked to press over a stalemate in negotiations, are thought to be two tactics used in conjunction with Mendes in order to apply pressure on the club. However, both parties are confident an agreement will be reached in the coming weeks.

Kidnapped 82yr Old Man Buried Alive In “Evil Forest”

The remains of an 82-year-old retired Inspector of Police, Elder Samuel Ekhoruyimen, who was allegedly abducted by some youths of Ewudu village in Ovia North- East Local Government Area of Edo State have been discovered in an ‘eveil forest’ near the village.
However, his remains suggest that he was buried alive in a grave dug before his abduction.

Pa Ekhoruyimwen who was the village head (Odionwere) of Oghobaghase near Ewudu community was said to have been invited to preside over the settlement of a dispute in his domain when he was allegedly waylaid and abducted by some youths of Ewudu village.

We gathered that following the octogenarian’s sudden disappearance on May 10, 2013, his children living in Benin informed the Police who declared him missing after 24 hours of futile efforts by the family to ascertain his whereabouts.

Assistant Inspector General of Police, AIG, Zone 5, Alhaji Hashimu Argungun, while speaking on the issue, disclosed that following intelligence reports, undercover agents led by one Sergeant Isaiah Osivwemu arrested one Osamudiamwen Uwaila of Ewudu community.

The AIG who spoke through the Deputy Police Commissioner in charge of Administration, Mr. Dave Akinremi, revealed that the confessional statement of the prime suspect led to the arrest of seven others, including the Chief Priest of the Ovia deity in Ewudu community, Pa Stephen Oviawe, 78.

He added that two village heads and two youths were also arrested in connection with the gruesome murder.

Efforts to recover the corpse

Meanwhile, the police boss said efforts to recover the corpse of the former Police Inspector have been intensified, saying other suspects now at large went to remove the remains from the grave before policemen were led there by one of the suspects.

The prime suspect, Osamudiamwen Uwaila, speaking with newsmen at the Adesuwa Police Station, yesterday, disclosed that he connived with others now at large, captured the victim on the way to his village and took him to an already dug grave in the evil forest of Ewudu community.

He added that they plotted to kill the victim because of his alleged role in a land dispute between Ewudu an d Orogun communities some years ago.

We learnt that after the arrest of some of the suspects who took the police to where the retired police officer was buried, it was discovered that the body had been exhumed and reburied in a yet to be identified grave in the Ovia forest.

It was learnt that the deceased may have been killed for ritual purpose. However, one of the suspects (name withheld) while confessing to the crime to the police, disclosed that they decided to re-bury the victim’s corpse because they found out that the body was buried close to the road, therefore they had to exhume to rebury so as to ensure that the body was not found by the police.

Governor Amaechi Shuns Patience Jonathan’s Port Harcourt Event

•L-R: Wife of the President, Mrs. Patience Jonathan; wife of Akwa Ibom State Governor, Mrs. Unoma Akpabio; and Zonal Coordinator, Women for Change and Development Initiative, Mrs. Toru Ofili, at the opening of South-South zonal office of WCDI in Port Harcourt…on Wednesday.

Rivers State Governor, Rotimi Amaechi, and his wife, Judith, on Wednesday shunned the inauguration of the South-South Zonal Secretariat of the Women for Change and Development Initiative by the wife of President Goodluck Jonathan, Patience.

Apart from the governor and his wife, other top officials of the Rivers State government also boycotted the occasion which was held in Port Harcourt, the capital city.

A source close to the President’s wife, who spoke with us at the event, said that the governor and his wife were invited for the opening of the zonal secretariat of the W4CDI and the empowerment of over 1,000 women in the state.

The source said a letter of invitation for the occasion was specifically sent to the governor’s wife about seven days to the event, regretting that the state government deliberately shunned the event.

“We sent a letter of invitation for the governor and his wife across to the Government House in Port Harcourt one week to the event, but as you can see, no single government official was present at the occasion.

“The truth is that (the state) government deliberately refused to attend the event. Enough publicity was done for the occasion and besides, invitation was extended to the state government,” the source said.

But Amaechi’s wife said she was never invited.

The governor’s wife, who spoke through her Press Secretary, Dike Bekwele, denied knowledge of the event.

She argued that the governor would have sent a representative if he was not in the state during the occasion, recalling that she attended the launching of the scheme in Rivers.

Bekwele said, “It is not correct for anybody to say that the governor’s wife was invited. The truth is that the organisers of the event did not invite the state government.

“In the past, the governor’s wife used to attend the occasion in Abuja or any part of the country. I think there is more to why they refused to invite the state government to the occasion.”

The scenario playing out in Port Harcourt, analysts would argue, was a mere extension to the well-known cold relationship between the President and the governor.

The Presidency was believed to be angry with Amaechi for his handling of the affairs of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum which both the Presidency and the Peoples Democratic Party considered inimical to the 2015 ambition of Jonathan.

Presidential aide, Ahmed Gulak, had sometime ago accused the Rivers State governor of running the NGF as a “trade union.”

Also, the PDP had reportedly barred Amaechi from contesting second term as the chair of the NGF but the governor apparently ignored the directive and contested against Plateau State Governor Jonah Jang, seen as the Presidency’s candidate.

The NGF has since been factionalised with both Amaechi and Jang heading different camps.
But while the Presidency has recognised the Jang faction of the NGF, the PDP has since slammed a suspension on Amaechi for alleged anti-party activities.

Meanwhile, Mrs. Jonathan, at the WCDI programme, charged Nigerian women to train their children and make them useful to the society.

Mrs Jonathan explained that it would be difficult for any society to enjoy any form of development without well-trained children, stressing that no nation could achieve its potential without peace.

The WCDI is one of the pet projects of Mrs Jonathan targeted at empowering women, widows and the less-privileged in the society.

She said the scheme was aimed at teaching women on how to be productive in order to assist their families and urged the women to make good use of the equipment given to them.

“I thank the women of Rivers State because since my stay here in the state, I have noticed that there is peace. It shows that Rivers women are doing a lot to train their children well.

“We need to train our children so that they will be useful to our communities, our local government areas, our states and Nigeria in general,” she said.

She said the administration of her husband had surpassed its predecessors in appointment of women, citing the headship of sectors like aviation, education and water resources by women as a testimony to her submission.

“This is the first time in the history of Nigeria that a President is carrying the women along. In appointments, 13 women have so far been appointed in the Federal Executive Council,” she said.
The President’s wife, however, enjoined Nigerian women to be united so that they could bring the 35 per cent affirmative action into reality.

She distributed sewing machines; cassava, pepper and tomato grinding machines to women across the 23 local government areas of the state. [Punch]

Confession: Mo'Hits Crisis Crashed My Wedding Plans - D'Banj

Here's what music superstar D'Banj said in a recent interview with
FUNSHO AROGUNDADE of PMNews.

When are you going to get married and have kids?

To tell you the truth, I would have been married if Mo'Hits had not
broken up. The crisis really affected me and I had to start so many
things afresh. Just like my mentor 2Face Idibia, I will be married and
have my own kids one day.

How much do you miss Don Jazzy?

I really miss Don Jazzy and I miss the whole Mo'Hits crew. But are we
talking about the engine or about the whole car?

How much would you say D'Banj is worth now?

Oshee! I can tell you that Eja nla (big fish) is comfortable. But
sincerely, I don't know how much I am worth because I have not really
taken my time to check. In fact, I don't even want to check so that it
won't get into my head. But I must confess to you that God is really
involved in my life right now.

Serious Gbege: Woman In Street Fight With Married Man Who Impregnates Her And Escape

It was drama galour at a popular street in Abuja, the Federal capital territory on Tuesday night as a big babe in the city was engaged in public fight with a man, who my source say is married with four children. The matter which started as mere argument between two secret lovers soon degenerated into a serious fight, to the extent that the man was said to have stripped the lady... The man, identified as Mekus, has a business in the area and had gone to see his staff when his lover showed up from a car and started insulting him. She accused him of sleeping with her in hotels and in her apartment but stopped talking to her when she told him she was pregnant for him. The man said he used to give her money whenever they "do something" and asked her if he ever told her he wanted to marry her. A source told OluFamous.Com that the man asked her some questions in the presence of passersby who had separated them: "I no tell you say I don marry? I no dey give you money anytime we do something? So what is your problem? Why are you disturbing my life?" The woman didn't answer him, she was just crying, using one hand to cover her open boobs and the other to grab her lover's trouser [so he wont escape again]. The estranged lovers were later taken to a corner where it was suggested that the man should "settle" her to go and "take care of the pregnancy".

Details of How Ex-Lagos Deputy Gov Committed N130m Scam; Now On The Run

Former deputy governor of Lagos State, Mrs Sinatu Ojikutu and her son,
Samson, who are both involved in a N130m land scam in Lekki, have been
declared wanted by the Police Special Fraud Unit (SFU).

The police said that after admitting to the crime and refunding part
of the money, the former deputy governor jumped bail and is now at
large.

Below are details of how she perfected the N130million fraud:
According to a petition sent to the DIG 'D' Department to the
Commissioner of Police, SFU; Mrs. Ojikutu and her son conspired and
sold a parcel of land at Plot 24 Block 4 at Admiralty Way, Lekki,
Lagos.

The buyer, whom the police did not name, said that he deposited the
N130 million into Mrs. Ojikutu's Union Bank account in tranches.

After payment, According to Premium Times report, the buyer said that
he requested for the title document of land but was told that the
original documents had been lost.

To back up her claim, the former deputy governor procured an
affidavit, a police crime extract, and a publication in the Vanguard
Newspaper of 18th October 2011, all purported evidence to the loss of
the original documents.

"The petitioner believed her because of her personality as the former
Deputy Governor of Lagos State," the police said in the statement
signed by Ngozi Isintume-Agu, the Police Public Relations Officer,
SFU.

After the petitioner commenced development on the land and was on the
verge of completion, the original owner of the land turned up and it
was discovered that the land did not belong to the ex-deputy governor,
the police said.

"She actually sold Plot 23 Block 4 while Plot 24 Block 4 already has a
property on it," the statement added.

Police said that investigations revealed that the land sold by Mrs.
Ojikutu actually belonged to one Mr. Afolabi.

"It was also discovered that the Plot 24 Block 4, which actually
belonged to late Samson Adebisi Ojikutu (Snr), the suspect's husband
who died in 2008 was sold by him in 1995 and the suspect was a life
witness and appended her signature to the sale of the land," the
police said.

"The suspect further perpetrated the crime by alleging that the
original C of O to the property was missing and swore and affidavit
which enabled her obtain a Police Report and Memorandum of Loss.

"She also put up an advert in newspapers that the original C of O is
lost whereas the original C of O is with Hallmark Homes, the buyer of
the property," the police added in their statement.

Jumped police bail
Mrs. Ojikutu, 67, served as deputy governor of Lagos State between
1992 and 1993 before the Sani Abacha led military coup truncated the
democratic governance.

The police said that she connived with her son, Samson Adebisi
Ojikutu, who is currently in the USA, to commit the fraud.

"She (Mrs. Ojikutu) admitted the crime but confessed that it was a
genuine mistake of plot identification," said the police.

"She refunded the sum of N50 million to the complainant and promised
to refund the balance as soon as she disposed her two properties she
put up for sale.

"She also confessed that she had injected the complainant's money in
her business."

The police further stated that Mrs. Ojikutu also made an undertaking
and a payment plan was drawn up from September 2012 to November 2012.

The former deputy governor defaulted to the plan due to lack of fund,
according to the police.

"Police further discovered that the suspect is not willing to abide by
the terms of repayment. She jumped police bail and has been elusive.
Frantic efforts have been made to re-arrest her which proved
abortive," said the statement.

"The Nigeria Police, Special Fraud Unit hereby declares Alhaja Sinatu
Aderoju Ojikutu wanted. Anybody with useful information regarding her
where about should report to the Commissioner of Police, Special Fraud
Unit, 13 Milverton Road, Ikoyi."

A retiree from Lagos Island, Mrs. Ojikutu hugged media headlines last
April after a Lagos High Court ordered the state government to pay her
all her retirement benefits and pension.

The Lagos State Government had stopped her entitlements after the
House of Assembly enacted a law that stated that "a public office
holder shall not be entitled to a grant of pension under this law if
he was removed from office by the process of impeachment or for breach
of any provision of the constitution."

Despite Being a Muslim I did not know how to pray-Mother of the Baby Born with Quran in Shasha Reveals

The mother of the baby, Kabirat Lamidi, a 32-year old hairstylist,
said right from the conception of the baby, she had been sick.

She said when the baby refused to come out after 11 months, she went
for a scan where it was shown that she had an object in the womb with
the baby.

The Ede, Osun State indigene who said she had been married for 10
years, said she was shocked to discover that few seconds after the
baby was delivered, she pushed out a Quran.

"I have been hearing about such incidents and I have always insulted
people thinking it could never happen. I believe it is a gift from
Allah," she said.

She said as a Muslim, she was not even dedicated and did not know how
to pray, expressing surprise that such an incident could happen to
her.

The mother of three said she had always given birth in the hospital
but that on this day, she went into labour so fast that she could not
move.

"My advice to people is that they should henceforth watch their mouth.
I didn't believe before now," she said.

Mrs. Saudat Olawuwo, a staff nurse with the Shasha Medical Centre who
assisted with the delivery, said she was called by neighbours when the
woman was in labour.

Mrs. Olawuwo with 17 years working experience, said the woman was
supposed to put to birth on 16 May, but it did not happen.

"By the time I came the day she was in labour, the baby was already
coming out. So I assisted her.
"After that, we were expecting the placenta, but the woman began
behaving like one about to run mad. I was so confused.
"The woman was shouting that she wanted to push again and all of a
sudden, the Quran, wrapped in nylon and stained with blood jumped out.
"Out of confusion, I ran out and called people who came to see. We
also called a Muslim cleric around the area who came and prayed for
the baby," she said.

Father of the baby, Luqman Lamidi, said he was in a drinking bar when
he was called and told that his wife had delivered a baby with a
Quran.

He said he did not believe until he came and saw the Quran covered with blood.

"I arrived home and saw a lot of crowd and could not even enter. In
fact, I am surprised that a drunk like me could produce a child that
came into this world with a Quran," he said, adding that he had become
a changed person.

Chief Imam of Oguntade, Shasha, Alhaji AbdulRafiu Opeloyeru Oyedokun,
said he was the one who tore the nylon from the Quran after he was
called to the place.

"When I came, people were still doubting if the object was a Quran or
not, so I tore the nylon with blood on it publicly and everyone
confirmed it."

As the yet to be named baby boy lay asleep, I noticed that each time
the Quran is placed on his chest, he consistently lifted his hands up
and would not drop the hands until the Quran is taken off.

Wizkid invited by policemen at Zone 2 Command today

Wizkid and his manger Godwin Tom were invited by men of the Nigeria
Police Force -  Zone 2 Command, Onikan, today June 19th after students
of the University of Lagos reported the music star to the police.

The students claim that Wizkid collected N500, 000 from them as full
payment for a show that was supposed to hold at UNILAG Sports Centre
on May 24th tagged Concert of Life. They claim Wizkid didn't show up
for the show and didn't return their money so they went to the police.

Wizkid was at Zone 2 for a few hours this afternoon with his team. He
was bailed by his lawyer after he wrote a statement and was asked to
report back to the station next week.

I reached out to Wizkid's camp but they kept mum on the matter. But
someone privy to the case said they believe an impostor collected the
money and not Wizkid. Hopefully, Wizkid's camp will eventually release
a statement clearing the air.

Saliu The Barber In Prison Over Robbery

An Ikeja Magistrates' Court on Tuesday remanded a barber, Oriyomi Saliu, 27, in Kirikiri Prisons in Lagos, over alleged armed robbery. The Magistrate, Mrs A. Ipaye-Nwachukwu, said that the accused would stay in prison, pending when legal advice from the state's Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) would be ready. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the plea of the accused was, however, not taken. Saliu is facing a two-count charge of conspiracy and armed robbery. The Prosecutor, Sgt Paul Inedu, told the court that the accused and others still at large, committed the offences at 11.30 p.m. on May 15 at Joy 'B' Hotel, Ijegun Road, Ikotun, Lagos. He said that the accused, armed with a gun and other dangerous weapons, robbed his victim, one Mr Yekinni Yusuf of two Nokia phones valued at N65,000. Inedu said that the offences contravened Sections 1(2) (a) and 5 of the Robbery and Firearms (Special Provisions) Act, Laws of the Federation 1990 (as amended). The case was adjourned till July 11 for the DPP's advice.

OAU student gives birth & attempts to flush new born baby down the toilet in school hostel

According to reports I got this morning from students of Obafemi
Awolowo University, a female student of the school gave birth in the
Moremi Hostel hall toilet and attempted to flush the baby but was
caught my the hall cleaners.

They say the girl's name is Oyin (let's leave her surname out for now)
and she's a 400l student of Electrical and Electronics Engineering.
The incident happened very early this morning.

According to a student of the school who sent in the photo, a cleaner
heard a baby crying inside one of the toilet stalls and then saw blood
coming from under the door. She quickly went to call other cleaners
around and they forced the door open.

When the cleaners entered the toilet they saw the student pouring
water inside the closet, the baby turned upside down, with the head
inside the closet.

One of the women dipped her hand inside and removed the baby...a boy,
who was still very much alive but bleeding from the nose. The cleaners
called school management who rushed both the girl and the baby to
Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital for treatment. The
placenta fell while they were rushing the girl to the hospital.

'Alfa' Allegedly Rapes Teenager During Deliverance

Wonders, they say will never end. This could best describe the
purported spiritual cleansing exercise by an Islamic cleric, Alfa
Isiaka, on Nafisat Gafari, an 18-year-old girl in Ibadan.

Alfa Isiaka had visited the victim's hairdressing salon shop at
Orita-Aperin, Ibadan. On sighting her, Alfa professed that he saw
calamities before her and told her that only spiritual deliverance
could save her from the impending danger.

Gullibly, Nafisat agreed to follow the Islamic cleric to his house at
Oja'ba, where unknown to her, Alfa Isiaka was alleged to have had a
carnal knowledge of her while she slept off.

Nafisat woke up to the reality that someone had slept with her, while
according to her, she was unconscious of happenings around her.

Recounting her ordeal at the police station, Nafisat, according to
sources, said that the only thing she could remember was that she was
given a drink and after consumption, she couldn't recollect anything
until after she woke up to discover that Alfa had allegedly had sex
with her.

The victim had since reported at the Mapo police station, Ibadan and
is currently under investigation, while the suspect is currently at
large. Police sources however, informed Crime & Security that efforts
were at advance stage to apprehend the suspect.

When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Oyo State
Police Command, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Bisi Ilobanafor,
confirmed the story and even expressed worry at the increase in cases
of rape these days.

"There is obviously an increase in rape cases these days, apparent of
which is the increase in awareness, because victims nowadays come out
to report unlike before when we only heard about rape cases, but the
victims would be afraid to come out and speak. I don't think rape
victims should be ashamed of speaking out.

Anytime there is a rape or defilement case, the case is always
transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID)
Iyaganku, Ibadan because of the importance attached to it.

In a related development, one Yetunde (Surname witheld), of Ilupeju
area, Ibadan, Oyo State, was also raped last week. Olapade, Crime &
Security learnt left home in company of her brothers and sisters to
watch a masquerade show. While returning, Olapade said some criminals
accosted her and dragged her to one corner where three of them raped
her and ran away.

All efforts made by the patrol team to arrest the hoodlums proved abortive.

Wudhu-Ablution

The Prophet (sallallähu alaihi wasallam) said,
"Whoever stands up to perform his Wudhu, intending to offer Salah, then
cleans his hands; the sins of his two hands fallout with the first
drop of water. Then, when he rinses his mouth, and draws water into
his nose and expels it; the sins of his tongue and two lips fallout
with the first drop of water. Then, as he cleans his face, the sins of
his hearing and seeing fallout with the first drop (of water). Then,
when he cleans his two arms past the elbows, and his two feet past the
ankles; he becomesfree of all his offences and sins, just as was his
state, the day hismother gave him birth. He (then)said: Then, when he
stands for Salah; Allah elevates his position, and if he (merely) sits
(without standing for Salah) even then his sitting is free of sins!"

We take bath regularly to clean our body of dirts, but how many of us
offer regular prayers daily to clean the real dirts (sins)?

[READ] : Open Letter To D'Banj From A Fan

Dear Oyebanjo, Dapo Daniel AKA D'Banj,I am seated at a local
restaurant here at the university town of Nsukka, in Enugu State,
Nigeria, drinking a bottle of Fayrouz and listening to the sound of
the generator, which is the only source of electricity around here.I
have watched your latest music video. I went through the rigour last
night. It is the video of the song entitled "Don't Tell Me Nonsense"
and it was awfully disgusting, the song, I mean. Kaffy and the rest of
the dancers didn't disappoint in the video.

This is bad, I know, using awful and disgusting, in same sentence. But
that is what I feel about what I saw. Brother, D'Banj, a lot has
changed since you left your brother and hustle partner, Ajereh,
Michael Collins AKA Don Jazzy. Truth. Your songs have been nothing but
trash. I wonder if anyone has said anything nice to you since you
started making songs outside Don Jazzy. If they have, it must have
been for that singular hit song entitled 'Oliver Twist.' Kai! That
song swept through Nigeria and the rest of the world. You would not
believe that the ordinary child on the streets of Nsukka knows the
lyrics of that song and the dance steps too.

In Nigeria, there are plenty factors that weigh us down. One is our
inability to manage our weaknesses. I see you have been buying
yourself expensive jewelleries. The other day, I saw on a blog that
you wear a wristwatch worth my entire family and maybe inheritance. I
commend your taste. You are a lucky and hardworking man. You deserve
it, besides; 'Oliver Twist' made marks. It took the Nigerian music to
a height that had never been seen in recent times. Its toping charts,
downloads, Youtube views and itunes purchases are amongst the few
things I can mention.

Dear, D'Banj, Don Jazzy may not be an ideal partner, I bet you, no one
is an ideal partner! Perfect couples quarrel and make up. It is the
joy of having such union. I believe misunderstanding is part of us, as
humans. I will run to the zoo the day I see a union that agrees on
almost everything.Back to your music, I feel Don Jazzy was made to
make good music with you. He may not only be your producer, but
whatever input, from advice, to production, will go a long way.
Besides, he has been miserable too, without you. I have seen his eyes
in music videos. There is one he did with Tiwa Savage. Ah, Tiwa. She
looked dazzling, while Don Jazzy looked wanting and dispirited. Tiwa
may have a perfect voice but Don Jazzy has not been able to achieve
what he did with you. The other boys, K-Switch, Wande Coal and the
goody bag crooner, D'Prince are unfortunate learners.

They must be stark illiterates to have taken sides when you guys
parted. I understand their ignorance. But my concern here is, if you
wish to stay relevant in the sight of Nigerians, making good music,
and not caressing a stripper on stage on your birthday, then you have
to make amends with Don Jazzy and understand that people argue because
they are beneficial to themselves. Only dummies agree on everything.

I think tribalism had a lot to play in your split. It is a sad
reality, if I am right. Tribalism will eventually destroy Nigeria. Our
young people think they belong to a superior tribe and so make silly
comments which sometimes bring about misconception and then crisis. I
once had a boss, who is Igbo, who felt my tribe's men were lazy, just
because she came to my state and saw a job and was privileged to be a
high ranking staff. I have had people who think those from the north
should be gatekeepers and cobblers. Someone called me a militant once
in Abuja, at the Sheraton, when he discovered I was from the
Niger-Delta. I forgave his gross stupidity. I think we should drink a
cup of water when ignorant people say rubbish about our personalities
or flaws and relate it to tribe.

You are a great young man, D'Banj. Few people have attained the height
you have. I am encouraged to pursue what I am currently pursuing
because I know I will triumph. Your likes and that of 2Face Idibia,
despite your weaknesses are heroes. And you must recall that Kanye
West met you because he had heard good stuff from you. When nothing
good manifests, he may be forced to give you a new job description at
Good Music, which may be mopping of the floor of the studio. This evil
will not befall you. If you believe it, type amen.

D'Banj, pride is the worst enemy of any man who wishes to last longer
anywhere. A drop of arrogance may work, but pride is detrimental. You
were called the 'entertainer' because you offered entertainment.
Today, Inyanya, Kcee, Flavour, Wizkid and Davido are doing better.
Imagine Burna-Boy, chai, that boy has some senses oh. His music, even
when he is talking nonsense makes you want to sit and listen or dance
to it, as the case may be. The only person that is yet to outshine you
is my dearest sister, Tontolet Dike. That girl needs Jesus.

I have to go back to my drink. I paid for it and it is almost missing
me. I enjoy your struggle or hustle, as you may choose to call it. I
wish to hear something profound from you. While awaiting that miracle
that only you can perform, I wish you the very best of life.

Father Of Dead Abused Nigerian Lady Warns Other Parents At Daughter's Graveside!

Here is the oration Late Yetunde Omodolapo Olotu-Jagha's father gave
at her grave-side on June 14,2013 in Dublin, Ireland.

The father's oration reads:

'' It is indeed agonizing to write this story; it is about our
beloved daughter Yetunde Omodolapo Olotu Jagha, she had a happy and
enviable childhood, committed parents, a dream secondary school, her
dream university and graduated a truthful, fulfilled, Christ- loving
adult.

Yetunde Omodolapo had just gained an admission into the federal
University of Technology, Akure, Nigeriafor a master degree program
when suddenly she brought Mr.Noble Oritsemeyin Jagha(Oti) for
marriage. It was marriage or nothing as they had agreed to suspend
that admission for another year which never materialized.
The entire (Idano) betrothal obligation that was expected to be
provided by the husband's family according to Yoruba tradition was not
provided.  We bore the cost of these betrothal obligations: the
entertainment at the engagement ceremony and the after-marriage party.
This was done in good faith just as we accepted the husband in all
sincerity not minding his financial status.  We took him as a son.
Not long after the birth of their first child, news started filtering
to my wife and  I that Oti as the husband was fondly called stayed out
late and had at some stages  beat his wife even with belt. "I wonder
why my daughter had to undergo this brutish act, despite the fact that
she was betrothed to him a virgin; a virtuous woman she was!
In this quest my daughter departed to Dublin, he continued in his
night crawling; leaving their little child alone all the time. He was
also involved in loads of unhealthy relationship with strange women.
This information became known to through his driver when my wife and I
stayed a night in his house while he was said to have traveled. He
even brought home women laundry. We did not inform our daughter about
this discovery because we wanted to save their marriage which was at
the verge of dissolution. Hence, we encouraged Oti to join his wife.
The first sign of financial unreliability we experienced from Mr.
Jagha was when my wife's nephew who lived in London sent Oti some
money to be deposited into his bank account in a bank where Oti worked
in Ibadan,Nigeria.  Up till date, the money has not been recovered
from him.
.Then came his involvement in fraud which led to his flee from
Nigeria. My wife also loaned him an amount of N1.2 million to repay
his debt but he did not. Instead, he used the money as fare to flee
Nigeria to London while he abandoned the entire family belongings. The
Criminal Investigative Department officers that were laying siege on
their home were subsequently led to us in Akure from Ibadan by his
office driver with a view to apprehending me. This great loss of
assets and dignity was another reason our late daughter became fed up
with the unwholesome corrupt life style of this ignoble Oti as a
husband. But after his pressure on us by incessant telephone calls and
the fact that their innocent first, nursery age child was with him,
also suffering in London, we persuaded our daughter to allow him join
her in Dublin hoping that he would change for the better.
Unfortunately, he never changed, he proved correct the Yoruba adage
which says "the character of a man never leaves him because it is in-
borne." He started his ignoble life style; fighting his wife over
allowances from government that was meant for the children's
maintenance, the wife's earnings from her daily toils, and his free
life style. Rather than pick up a job to join in the maintenance of
the family, he prefers to loiter the street in quest for flings and
speaking on the phone for hours with women.
He finally made his wife to have another pregnancy that gave them the
twin baby girls for which reason the stone- hearted husband abandoned
the wife in the hospital because none of the twins is a male child.
From that time, he boasted to me several times on telephone, that he
must have a male child from any other source. He hated the idea of our
daughter not having a male child, he blamed and frustrated her for it
even unto death. I pleaded with him that countries like Britain,
Germany, India, Liberia etc had females as head of governments of
their countries but this meant nothing to his resolute decision.
Jagha was accused severally of having affairs with married women in
the church whose husbands in return made dolapo's life a living hell
sending her texts and emails of curses and of threatening nature
coupled with what she was facing at home and having to work 6 days a
week to maintain the whole family, not long after, our daughter was
diagnosed of breast cancer. According to Mr. Jagha, he knew when the
attack (Satanic Arrow) was sent to him and the wife but he dodged it
while his wife could not. He did not agree with the wife to see a
doctor when the lump was initially found and disagreed it should be
removed when advised by doctors.  He insisted on prayer alone and our
daughter succumbed to his wicked advice wanting to be obedient.
However when it worsened she had to be hospitalized. The husband's
main  concern all the time had not always been the health of the wife
but to extort money for his free life style, even though he refused to
take up any Job.  The wife finally had to approach the court for a
safety and protection order/ judicial separation when she could no
longer bear the physical and mental abuse she suffered in the hands of
Oti.  The church persuaded our daughter to withdraw any legal action
which she did in obedience. The church claimed that Oti resolved to be
of good behavior and pleaded return back to their home which he had
abandoned with the family car so that dolapo had to trek with the
children to school in bad weather while under treatment until her
condition grew worse, he was never supportive despite all appeal to
him from quarters including his wife until she was moved to the
hospice.
From the Yoruba perspective, it should be inferred that the so-called
arrow of cancer was Oti's diabolic act. So that once the wife was
eliminated; he would be free to marry another wife as permitted by
Christian faith, he had promised a certain lady in the church he was
having an affair with that he would marry her when his wife dies, this
was revealed to dolapo by the lady's friends. It may surprise you that
this man is a "PASTOR." One is therefore surprised that such an
ignoble Mr. Noble Jagha could be appointed a Pastor of that reputable
church in which he worships even against his wife's plea that he
needed to change, grow and restitute (she was ignored).  As the father
of late Yetunde Omodolapo, it is my conclusion that her husband was
responsible for her untimely cruel death; out of demonic acts and
charms, long drawn oppression and neglect  even on her final sick bed.
Oti was the primary killer while cancer was just a secondary cause of
death, and why is this not a surprise for someone who tried to kill
his own blood sister.Throughout the time she was hospitalized her
friends and church members drew a 24hrs roaster to take turns in
taking care of her. The husband turned up once in a while to see if
she was still breathing and urges her to transfer money to his account
every week.  He stole her bank card at the hospital and robbed her a
sum of One thousand Euros plus and transferred money from the
deceased's account to an unknown account of a man in Athlone (An elder
in the church whom we gathered he owes) and also fuelled his car and
enjoyed the luxury of our daughters stipend in company of her
girlfriends in Athlone on the grounds that he was getting paid for
looking after his own children.  We reliably gathered that on the day
our daughter died, her estranged husband's first concern was seizure
of the death certificate and the approach of her late wife's office
for information of how to collect her terminal retirement financial
benefits. How dare you lay claim on the benefit of a woman you cruelly
hated and sent to her early grave, and whose corpse was yet to be
buried? This is unacceptable Mr Jagha!
When Mr. Jagha arrived Dublin, I advised him to engage himself in a
meaningful employment from which he would be able to earn good money
from which he could repay and restitute the embezzled money from the
bank and become a free man rather than hide in Europe. He bluntly
refused; the image of a wanted criminal meant nothing to him.
One could see, therefore, why late Yetunde could never be comfortable
with a man without a conscience. A man who chose to cover his
slothful, ignoble, secret and sinful life style with the title of a
"PASTOR". This accounts   for his hidden agenda to eliminate his wife
for not bearing a male child.
Mr. Noble Oritsetimeyin  Jagha boasted several times that he would
assemble his prayer warriors and hold vigils to hasten her death; no
wonder my daughter was not shocked when she saw the prayer points in
Noble Jagha's purse which he forgot at the hospice while he came to
ask for money from the wife as usual; the prayer-point stated that God
should strike Yetunde's heart and that she should do no other thing
except what he (Jagha) orders her to do. Little wonder, if this is the
ideal prayer that a dying woman required on her sick bed. When she
even pleaded with her husband to pray for her, he bluntly refused.
On the night before the death of my daughter, while my daughter could
hardly speak, he was in another bout of accusations about who said
what about who reported to the child-protection agency that he left
the kids at home for two days on a row to go to school and sleep all
by themselves while he visited his concubine in Athlone while Yetunde
was at the hospice. Now that she is dead, how then, can Mr. Noble
Jagha suddenly develop sincere love and concern for these innocent
female children after the death of their mother? We are aware that you
see them as your meal ticket/money bag and nothing else…….
The wicked shall not go unpunished therefore; a so-called pastor who
has not a fruit of the spirit to show for the prayer power he claims
to demonstrate is another Elymasthe sorcerer and shall disappear into
hell suddenly as such at God's appointed time.
Therefore, no one seeking the true God, and therefore true success,
true prosperity here on earth, and eternal life for that matter,
should worship under such a pastor  regardless of what powers of
prayer he demonstrates (Matt 7 -21-23). God's word stand for ever
"Surely the wicked shall be caught in his own craftiness; he shall not
go scot-free.

13 As our daughter is interred into her eternal rest, all parents,
friends, on lookers must strive hard that their children, and
relations do not fall into the nets of the satanic wicked spouse.
Christian churches of the living God should strive hard that they do
not hire pastors like the ignoble; Satan- possessed Mr. Noble Jagha
that will send their innocent worshippers into eternal doom.
Yetunde, my beloved daughter, rest in perfect  peace, in the bosom of
the living God of vengeance till we meet to part no more''.

Kevin De Bruyne wants to move to Dortmund after spending last season on-loan in the Bundesliga
De Bruyne, 21, cost Chelsea £7million in January 2012, but has barely played for the Blues after remaining on-loan at Genk in the second half of the 2011/12 and spending last year at Werder Bremen.

It was thought that Jose Mourinho had plans to include the Belgian international in his squad at Stamford Bridge next season, but De Bruyne could look to push through a move to Champions League finalists Borussia Dortmund this summer.

Dortmund’s sporting director Michael Zorc said: "We are interested in him. I can confirm the player is wanting to make a transfer to our club."

De Bruyne recently admitted playing regularly will be a big factor in his decision, saying: "The most important thing for me is to be playing games.

"I know that I will be stressed when I play a few games on the bench.

"Next season I need to play a lot of games. With the point of the World Cup, it's very important."

Bayer Leverkusen were hopeful of landing the winger as part of Chelsea's £20m move for Germany forward Andre Schurrle, but that was rejected by the West London outfit.

Spurs are believed to be in talks over a move for Paulinho

Paulinho is currently participating in the tournament with Brazil, and the race for his signature has hotted up in recent weeks.

The north London outfit are interested in the 24-year-old box-to-box midfielder along with Inter Milan's Fredy Guarin.

Though reports have suggested that Spurs are set to meet his buyout clause which stands at £17m, Paulinho inists he will decide upon his future after the tournament draws to a close.

"Unfortunately, at this moment in time, nobody has offered Corinthians the fee set in my contract for my sale," Paulinho told Italian publication Gazetta dello Sport.

Roma are also believed to be keeping an eye on the Corinthians player, whom he admires.

"Roma are a prestigious club. A champion such as Paulo Roberto Falcao wore their shirt, a player I have always admired.

"Roma and Inter are clubs where any player would want to be a protagonist, but you'll see that nothing will happen until after the Confederations Cup."

I've had not had an offer from Man United or any other club, insists Fabregas

Cesc Fabregas has reiterated that he has not received any offers from any clubs to tempt him away from Barcelona.
The former Arsenal man is a target for Manchester United following a difficult season with the Catalans last term, and he is thought to be keen on moving to Old Trafford so he can join up with his former Gunners team-mate Robin van Persie.
But, during an interview with Movistar, Fabregas insisted: 'People talk a lot but the truth is that no-one has spoken with me.

'I want to triumph in Barcelona, that club is my home and I always dreamed of playing there, so I will try and succeed there as long as I can.'
Next year Fabregas will be playing alongside new signing Neymar, who joined Barcelona earlier this month.
The Spaniard believes the Brazilian has the capabilities to light up the Nou Camp but said he must be given time to bed in after moving club, league and country.
'Neymar will need time to adapt because he is coming from a completely different type of football from what he will find here. We need to help him settle in and grow so that he can give us great nights,' said Fabregas.
He also dismissed talk that there could be a clash of egos between Neymar and Leo Messi.
'The egos are very controlled in the team,' he said. 'Messi has won the Ballon d'Or four times and is probably the best player of all time but when you see him every morning he doesn't seem like it.'
Although Neymar cost Barcelona an estimated 57million euros, Fabregas raised alarm at the possibility of the club's biggest rivals Real Madrid spending 100million to buy Gareth Bale from Tottenham.
'For me spending 100million on Gareth Bale is foolish, I don't know how any club could spend that amount of money in these circumstances,' he said.
'He is a great player with all the right attributes, but we will have to see if Madrid sign him and if he can perform there.'
