RVP's message to Moyes: We know the standards here... United must win the title

Robin van Persie has embraced the dawn of a new era at Manchester United - but warned new boss David Moyes that nothing less than retaining their Premier League title will do. Moyes has replaced fellow Scot Sir Alex Ferguson in what was United's first managerial change in more than a quarter of a century. But Van Persie, who won his first league title in his first year at the club last season, is confident it will be business as usual when it comes to winning trophies. 'It will be a new era and I am looking forward to it,' he told MUTV. 'It is part of our job as well. We have to deal with the new situation and how it is. 'First we can enjoy last year a little. We have a summer break which we should all take and enjoy. 'And then, slowly, after a couple of weeks, we will start to think about next season and, of course, we are looking forward to next season.' United will face renewed challenges from Chelsea and bitter rivals Manchester City as all three clubs adjust to life with new managers. But Van Persie is confident the Premier League title will remain in the Old Trafford trophy cabinet. 'It is going to be a new era and a new challenge, with a new manager, maybe some new players coming,' he added. '(Wilfried) Zaha is coming in from Crystal Palace, maybe some more. Maybe some will leave, nobody knows. 'But it is going to be a new challenge and everybody knows what our standards are: we want to win the league again and then hopefully add one or two trophies to that.'
