Boko Haram Attacks MOPOL Training Base In Borno

Fleeing members of the Boko Haram Islamic sect, on Thursday, attacked Limankara village, killing scores of people. Among those killed was the pastor of a local church. Limankara, which is a border community between Borno and Adamawa, was said to be a safe haven for residents of Gwoza in Borno, who fled from the ongoing military onslaught on members of Boko Haram. It is a Mobile Police training base. The refugees were said to be waiting for the dust in Gwoza to settle down before going back to their homes. Though the report could not be confirmed because telephone services were cut in the three North-eastern states of Adamawa, Borno and Yobe, the Executive Director of Stefanos Foundation, Mr. Mark Lipdo, said he heard about the incident from an authoritative source. Lipdo said, “Reports say that Limankara community, at the Borno/Adamawa border, was attacked by men of Boko Haram yesterday (Thursday). Sources said there were people killed, including a pastor.”
