Appearing before the Judicial Commission of Inquiry into the crisis that sat in Isabo, Abeokuta, Oba Akanni also lamented that a sum of N1.5 million kept in his palace as at the time of the incident was stolen by the hoodlums who burnt down his palace.
Yet to be identified hoodlums beat the monarch and stri*ped him in the area before his palace was set ablaze during an attack that occurred on April 15, 2013, following which the state government set up a judicial commission to look into the crisis and come up with recommendation to the government.
While giving a graphic detail of how he was attacked, the monarch said, “I was beaten with charms on that day and I would have been dead by now if not for the grace of God.”
