Nigeria’s First Instagram Fashion Show – “Reinvent” by Jumia Friday 14th June 2013

 

Nigerian on line retailer Jumia is getting set to dazzle its online audience with the country’s first ever Instagram fashion show tagged “Reinvent” on their newly launched Instagram account –www.Instagram.com/jumiafashion.

 

During the fashion show, the online store will be showcasing its topmost fashion brands and 

outfits from dresses and formal wear to tops and shoes. It will be organised like a regular fashion show where models will be clothed in Jumia outfits but this time, via Instagram. Speaking on the event, Raphael Afaedor andTunde Kehinde, Co founders of Jumia said “Reinvent is another novel initiative from Jumia to showcase our wide array of top quality and world class fashion brands available to all Nigerians. Following the 500k milestone we achieved on Facebook and other strides we have accomplished on other social media platforms, it was expedient for us to explore other social networks and as a company that is keen about ingenuity, we decided to launch our Instagram account with this fashion show to allow Nigerians around the world view our latest and best fashion items from the comfort of their homes.”

 

Adding to this, Wale Adetula, the Head of Offline Marketing at Jumia Nigeria said “As a company that has led the pack in innovation and excellent customer service, we couldn’t think of a better way to launch our Instagram account than to host Reinvent; something that has never been done before in Nigeria. We would like to use this opportunity to implore all Nigerians to join us on Instagram and be part of history.”

19 Good Things a Lady in Her 20’s should know

 
1. Love and honour your mother. Learn from her mistakes. It will save you a lot of headache in your thirties (30s) and beyond.
 
2. You are more talented than you’ll ever know. You don’t need to sleep with your Boss/ supervisor to get a promotion at work or better grades at school. Burn late night candles; put extra time to study and practice until you master your skill. Hard work still pays well and does not kill.
 
3. Women can build a strong support network. Don’t let few ladies with “Pull Her Down” {PHD} syndrome discourage you from cultivating true relationship with your female friends.
 
4. When a man you meet for the first time babbles about how much he earns working for an oil company and how rich he is, that is a red flag. He is either a married smooth-talker who just wants to sleep with you or he is childish. Walk away from deceit.
 
5. Make your own money. Start small. Maintain a stable bank account. It will keep you out of trouble.
 
6. When you meet your Soul mate, don’t forget to wear your most priceless ornament- submission and humility. But while waiting for him, don’t cling to any man to rescue you. Some men these days are also seeking for who will rescue them.
 
7. Know your body. Look at yourself in front of a full-length mirror at least once a week, naked and after clothed. Know your body and how it works.
 
8. Life is a gift. But to revel in it, you must be ready to put a lot into nurturing your gifts/talents and skills. Start early.
 
9. Teenage ended at 19. Clocking 20 means doing away with childish behaviour. But it does not mean you should forget to have fun. You can catch fun and not be dirty.
 
10. Learn the basic skills and let yourself grow- from how to keep your underwear clean, cook, socialize, and network to how to drive a car.
 
11. Don’t do drugs. It kills. Read books, it fortifies. Dance as often as you can, it liberates your spirit, soul and body.
 
12. Partnership builds bridges. Don’t ever forget that.
 
13. Eat healthy. Learn to cook for yourself. Don’t rely on noodles alone. The cooking skill will be useful in future.
 
14. Don’t give up when you fail. Try again and again. Don’t give up on education/ learning.
 
15. Fear of the future. It is a state of mind you must learn to tame. Don’t let fear pull the carpet from under your feet. The Holy Bible tells us that God has not given us a spirit of fear but of power, love and a sound mind.
 
16. Let go of past hurts. You cannot move forward if you keep looking back. Holding on to bitter experiences and regrets will stale your future.
 
17. Learn to exhale, love deeply and be kind to others, especially those of low estate, and the lowest of low.
 
18. You are beautiful the way you are. Don’t compare yourself to others.
 
19. Prayer is the master key. Have faith in God and always have the courage to use your voice wisely. Dream big today.
 
Fear simply means False Evidence Appearing Real. Enjoy the highs and lows that come with being in your 20s but don’t be afraid to grow older. Live life to the fullest and don’t forget to smile always!

Her memo follows : ''YES..the lady in the picture is our very own Doris Simeon-Ademinokan.Well, until a few months ago..And that is if nothing has changed since her husband, Daniel Ademinokan, eloped with Stella Damasus Aboderin Nzeribe Ademinokan. Oops..a mouthful that was. Anyhow, I am more concerned,and worried sick for my dear lady,Doris.

I seriously do not like her looks in this photograph.Oh By the way,the man in the picture is just her friend o.Please don't insinuate or pass any bias assertions.He is very married with kids. THANK YOU!  But...I almost didn't recognize Doris at all.She looks rather frail,dejected,colorless...etc.Or is it my eyes..or Doris has aged overnight?Perhaps from too much stress? NO thanks to DANIEL AND HIS WHORE STELLA DAMATURU!!

I don't care whether you marry Daniel or not but i am really upset that you have another woman's child with you..that is perhaps the reason she has aged overnight. 

 

Another woman's child calls you mother when the mother is still alive? .Stella you are my namesake and Stella's are strong,independent women who are go getter's on the positive,not this kind. 

God put you through the threshold for a reason but you left the threshold before the appointed time.I am in no position to judge you,i only speak from pain as a mother...you have your kids with you and you monitor their growing up phase,why should another woman be denied hers? 

 

Stay with Daniel if you want but please you are a mother right?let God minister to you and Daniel so you both can return Doris Simeons son to her... this is a soft memo for now and i am watching events unfold. 

 

PLEASE RETURN THIS BEAUTIFUL WOMAN'S child to her and then continue with whatever binds you both.

Tragic: Another fire destroys 150 shops in Anambra

Nothing less than 150 shops was destroyed by the fire at the Ekwulobia Main Market in Anambra State.

On Thursday, the fire which was said to have started at about 12 noon affected most parts of the  electronics market, but the cause is still unknown.

People claim the fire fighter arrived late to the scene and as at 5pm, rescuers were still trying to salvage some goods from the remains of the fire, no lives has been reported lost.
According to reports, the fire service from Awka, rather than the one at Ekwulobia, responded to distress calls where traders lost inestimable goods and cash.

The President General of Ekwulobia Traders Allied Workers Association Ikechukwu Ezeokeke and Chairman of the Electronics line Ekwulobia, Frank Timothy, grieved over the huge loss the traders suffered.

“I am a confused person now,” a victim, John Chetachukwu, said.

“My shop got burnt completely. I was in my house when the youths came to bring me to this place around 4pm . I saw the inferno and I was speechless.”

“Although I lost everything but I thank everybody including the DPO Ekwulobia and many others for rallying around us.”

The Punch reports:

Another victim, Kingsley Osedume, said he could not salvage a pin and his shop was the only source of the extended family income and called for help.

For Richard Okoli, who deals on interior decoration, said he just came back with goods worth over N600,000 from the market yesterday which were razed.

The Local government Chairman, Mr. Titus Anigbogu consoled the traders and assured them he would table their situation to the state government for appropriate actions.
